I guess this qualifies as rare..... Both as a 309 GTI and as its more or less brand new! shocked I worked at Ryton building the first Peugeot's there..... Let me just say build quality was not of the upmost importance to us workers there at that time! rolleyes

Presumably, 126 miles was as far as it got before it broke?

113 miles from Ryton to the dealers, Charters of Aldershot.

There was a low mileage 1981 X1/9 at Autoitalia Brooklands this year with a label on it bragging of all the original parts on it, Including the tyres
He had driven it to the show on 35 year old rubber. suicide

16VT and X1/9 1500

We must all do our part for the planet.
I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using.

I bought a Trabant 601s a few years ago, still on original tyres and brakes, but with a fresh mot. Only fully road legal car I've ever trailered home.

As you may know I've been clearing out my garage ready for an extension, and I found an old MG Metro 13" alloy wheel and tyre. The tyre itself looks in very good condition considering its atleast 20 years old. Doesn't hold pressure though as its got a leak from the valve.

There's a set of 5 on ebay for £225!

Daytrip to Blenheim yesterday brought plenty of 'sights' on the M40.....

1. Silver Renault Fuego - not seen one on the road for years but this one looked like a daily runner rather than any collector/enthusiasts car.
2. Some kind of Rolls-Royce 1920's Silver Ghost-type vintage but with a fixed head 'carriage.' It was running darn well though not far off 70!
3. Followed a silver/almost Moon-grey! McLaren 675 LT Spider going back on the M40 N at the A34 Bicester junction. Followed him for some way - first one I've seen. Sounded and looked even better than I thought in the flesh.
4.Oh and a red V8 GT Esprit parked right outside Blenheim entrance thumb

I saw that yellow Daytona convertible again this afternoon, this time it was followed by a mint Lotus Eclat in British Racing Green. Bloody showoffs.

School run this morning - mint Mk.1 Fiesta - red on a W plate ('80/'81) - looked like a basic popular but was immaculate. Then spotted a Renault 5 - even they are becoming scarce now. Both in Cov

Loads more spots recently including a Yellow Citroen DS on the M42 - going like the clappers in the fast lane!
Also an all black DB11 Aston followed by a white 458 Italia on the A452 near Balsall Common (OK it was near the Aston dealer)
Oh - forgot to add Yellow TVR Sagaris cool

Black 1965 Ford Thunderbird similar to this one, outside my house this evening.

My son just bought it. 390 Cu Inch (about 7 litres) V8 power, in pretty good nick.

A black MG SVR just outside Loton Park hill climb yesterday afternoon.
Not seen one in the metal before and the rear lights reminded me of my coupe a little.

Green TVR Sagaris in East Finchley last weekend - quite a bit of presence, can't help but give it a double take.

Since a classic car garage has moved to around the corner from me, I've been seeing quite a lot. Yesterday saw a gloss black Mercedes 280sl Pagoda and an immaculate 365 Speedster - which then broke down in the middle of quite a busy road.

Of course it does. Rare means not common not necessarily esoteric. I see a base model MkIII Escort and an Alfasud regularly on my commute and I count them both.

Up yours Photobucket.

Spotted an absolutely gorgeous Porsche 918 Spyder in Marine Blue last night, on its way home from Race The Runway at Leuchars. Always amazing things to see on the road, and I think Marine Blue really suits them.

Saw a yellow one just a couple of weeks ago in the French countryside, but I think the blue beats it.

Spotted an Ariel Atom V8 and then a McLaren 650s a few seconds later within 100 yards. That would be a good one to watch if they both put their foot down!! cool

I missed Race The Runway yesterday, but I hear the 918 Spyder managed to come second. Only beaten by a Veyron Supersport World Record Edition.

I confess to cheating a bit on this one, as this is a new item of stock that my company has just bought. None the less, worth a mention here I feel:

The jacobs get a bit cold driving around with the doors down in this weather, as the wind blows straight through, but it had to be done! laugh

Grigio 575 Superamerica outside Mark Kermode's favourite cinema. Bonnet up with lots of chin scratching - another breakdown from Hexagon, its not been a good week for them.
