Hi all, Its time to put a new battery on the Coupé I borrowed her existing over sized Bosch Silver and instead of putting it back want to get the lady a new one. Can anyone confirm what the correct sizing is for the car? I'll probably be going down the Bosch Silver line or equivalent but last time I got a tad over excited and got something the size of small car in its own right Thanks in advance

Have a look here: https://www.tayna.co.uk/car-batteries/types/027/The Bosch S5005 is actually a rebadged Varta D15 with a Bosch premium added. Bosch don't seem to make their own car batteries anymore. The Exide 027TE EA640 is a better battery still and is even cheaper.

Bosch silver are poor, expect them to last only about 18-24 months before not holding charge. A few of us on here get them from Costco and keep returning them for a full refund and then buy a new one which renews the 5 year warranty. I think I've had about 10 across 2 cars and paid for maybe 3.
I was just taking the car down to costco, removing the battery in the car park, getting the refund, then buying a new one to re-fit in the car park. Halfords used to sell Bosch silver batteries but haven't for a few years now, that tells you something considering they charged double the price of Costco.
I've got an Exide battery in the coupe now and it has held charge and lasted better so would definitely go with another Exide over a Bosch battery when this one dies.

IIRC you need a 65A if you have a/c but I'd prefer someone to confirm this

Thanks all! Is it really Graham? Well you learn something new everyday! Appreciate the experience. The current Bosch Silver I’ve had for over 5 years and it’s been perfect. I’d borrowed it out of the Coupé and thought I’d treat her to a new one instead of putting it back. Bosch is no longer flavour of the month then. Is there such a thing as a premium battery nowadays? Does yours have a/c Nick? of course... remember I have a top of the line
