You are only obliged to wear a helmet when it’s a track day, not a tourist drive Simon

@GrahamL - "The car's never seen any driving like this before.." What do you reckon? I didn't realise there was someone in the rear until very near the end when this disembodied voice piped up, crikey it performed well with three in! Was that your lad Jamie? Loved the dancing feet (until the g force sabotaged the gopro ) Some driving.

Hi Simon, Yes it was my lad in the back
We'll go back and do it again next year.
But I'll have new injectors fitted and some Carbo tech pads, so he'll probably scare us a bit more
Cheers Jamie

@GrahamL - "The car's never seen any driving like this before.." What do you reckon? Haha, well all I can say is that the car was driven 100% harder in the first 5 mins of Jamie's test drive than it was during my entire ownership, certainly as far as braking and cornering. To be fair I was never interested in track days etc., accelerating fast in a straight line was always good enough for me. Track days seemed to me to be no more than unnecessary stress on the car and driver and not what I'd call fun... I preferred to stick on some music and take a fast country drive, with the drive being more an enhancement to the music than anything else. The gearbox and clutch on my Punto are now buggered (loud knocking in 4th and hard to get into 1st) so it seems I did indeed get rid of the wrong Fiat!

Sorry Graham mines not for sale Haha, no I definitely wouldn't go back to another coupe now. The cash is already long gone anyway, basically swapped it for a pro microscope setup to get into chip hacking.

Hi Paul, The anxiousness was how close he gets to other cars and me thinking can I afford to repair the other car!!!!
But yes misha is a race driver with something close to 8000 laps around the ring, so he knows it very well
Cheers Jamie

Yeh, at the time my son was driving, so at the start of the lap it was dry, but within 2 minutes it rained heavily.
Anyway we saw Misha go by us, and we'd had a slippy moment or two and backed off.
Then we saw the aftermath with the Mazda, and thought it's a good job we slowed down!!!

Hi all, Recently got back from our 2nd trip to the ring. Car was even better than last year, which was due to the fleamap and also some geometry tweaks.
Something I did do beforehand was use a product called Berryman B12 to see if it would free up oil control rings, as normal street driving wouldn’t use any oil but track driving was typically burning a litre of oil, closer to 2 litres at the ring!
NB , if you use this product you must change the oil afterwards as it is a really aggressive solvent that will compromise the old oil !
Anyway used the product and can confirm for my engine at least it now burns pretty much nothing
Back to the track, we did another lap with Misha that will be on his channel soon. He really enjoyed the changes, albeit he prefers a harder suspension set up, but for us the car was more useable with the settings so happy days
Cheers Jamie
