Greetings!

The alarm on my 2000 20VT+ has given up the ghost... it's draining the battery, sometimes as quickly as overnight, and is in need of replacement asap.

It's a Serpi Star, see attached pic. Is this straightforward for an experienced ICE technician to remove and replace, it's beyond my skills and the first guy I asked seemed to think he'll need to take the dashboard out??

Thanks for your guidance. smile

Hi Pablo,

I've recently had the same with my serpi star alarm, mine is a GR 420. Removing the power to the alarm by pulling the fuses was enough to completely shut it off. You will lose remote central locking though.
My unit was located above the fuse box in a LHD drive car.

Do you know what type of serpi star you have?

Kind regards,

Daan

Thanks Daan.

I lost the remote central locking a while ago and am not too worried about that, this new issue with the battery being drained is a real pain though!

There are a few numbers on the fob, but none are similar to GR 420. I'll have a look and see if I can find the alarm unit and potentially pull the appropriate fuse...

I might be mistaken but it's possible the blue connector block above the bonnet release handle might be part of the circuit - worth a try...

In mine it's disconnected I guess because the original alarm was exchanged for a Toad system.
