So far, zero Coupe chances for any activity during 2026.

I fired her up over the weekend - and let her get to temp, and fired up the a/c etc - but beyond moving her just a few inches - she's looking a bit sorry for her self- with a growing layer of dust on her- and not having turned a wheel properly since a dry, but cold day in December.

With media channels falling over themselves to confirm ever worsening weather (thunder snow and death ice etc) the rest of the month- the chances of an early start to the year look like a non starter.

I've done a few small jobs inside the car- tightening of trim screws, and just checking the door attachments (thought one had started to droop).

The wet weather means rolling her out to get her out of the dry store and on to jacks is all so out- so planned work to the brakes has been a non- starter.Presuming most are stuck in the same positon?

Roll on that orange ball in the sky they used to call the sun!

Here's to better weather and some road time for us all soon!

Regards MM

It’s grim isn’t it! I can see why people SORN them over winter but I’d be annoyed if a nice day appeared and I wasn’t able to take mine out for a run.

I’ve had mine out of the garage a couple of times because I needed the space to sort stuff out in there and took it for a short drive around the block to get it up to temp but didn’t go too far as I wanted to avoid getting the bottom caked in muck; definitely need to get some Lanoguard on there this year! Had to charge the battery beforehand because that had gone flat.

It’s back outside this week, currently getting soaked, hopefully it won’t snow and there’ll be a dry day soon so I can put it away again. It’s insurance renewal time coming up too so I need to give it a wash and take photos for the agreed value again. Fingers crossed the weather improves before the end of the month and we can get out there and give them a shine and a proper run…

Even here in France it's much the same - can't remember having as bad a winter as this for the 10 years we have been here!

The furthest the Coupé has travelled since last November is a couple of trips (about 20 metres!) across the barn and then back, just to position the tyres in a different place on the tread. At least it's dry and warm and there's very little dust accumulated. Even if we have a sunny day, everywhere is so wet that there's no point in going out just to get the underside filthy!

Fingers crossed March is better. In fact last year I think I was already outside at this time, up a tower and doing some repointing of said barn ..... no chance now.

This winter has been very wet here in Bulgaria. Normally it's sunny most days but cold.
This winter has been rain most days and very few sunny days. Very depressing too.

I have 2 coupe's so if I have to go out it's in a coupe. I try to pick the better days and don't go out in the snow.
Fortunately the cars are garaged so they are dry most of the time. Both are pretty dirty at the moment though.

The forecast is the same for the foreseeable but I'm sure March will be much better.

Still cheers me up going out in the cars and spending time in the garage working on them. Very enjoyable.

As mine is pretty much my daily it's seen it's fair shair of the bad weather we have been having. Trying to keep on top of maintenance between the down pours has been... well.... interesting. I'm currently in the middle of changing the heater matrix and am awaiting on another set of seals. On my list to sort out this year are as follows,

Heater matrix
Sort bonnet cable out
6k oil/filter change
cambelt
Repair some corosion on the rear offside where a prevous repair has failed.

The Matrix, bonnet cable and oil change I can do myself. But I'll leave the rest to the professionals smile

Once I have the matrix in and not leaking I think im going to remove the front seats and wet vac the carpet.

It would be nice to get to some meets or car shows this year, but I have a few other things happening so I doubt the coupe will get to one,

I guess there are not many Coupés in Bulgaria? - not many here in France.

There are quite a few coupe's in Bulgaria but most are 1.8 versions and some 16v n/a. Very few 16v turbos and only a handful 20vt's

It's good to see green shoots of spring-weather intentions.

Here we have in the pipeline a restoration of a red 20vt which hasn't been running for many years, its owner recently retired and keen to get it running again hopefully with assistance from our modest local team!

School run this morning.
Visibility affected by frosty, steamed up, oily windscreen and low sun.
Stopped twice to re-clear it.

Carpets wet. So a leak to find.

Hoping its not the heater matrix PaulL..

Another challenging project Edinburgh-looks like she really needs all the TLC your team can throw at it!

Heater matrix has been a pain for years.
Several 'cures' have failed.

Replacement matrix, pipework and o rings.

I'm currently drying it out after some holes radiator sealant.

Also issue with the cigarette lighter connection to dash cam.
10 years old grandson ollie has identified a loose wire, so we should get this sorted.

Things like this wear me down.

BUT, brilliant sunshine this morning and the car looked great !

I've just today completed my third attempt at fitting a new heater matrix Paul. Last two times the thing would not seal with with new O rings and sealant applied. This time today however, seemed to go well.... With no apparent leaks so far. Although on starting the car after being sat for 3 weeks it sounded very tappy until warm...... One thing after another rolleyes

Well,

Your putting me to shame guys.

Midweek 15'c temps had me planning a check over yesterday, with view of a good wash down and put a few miles on her- bringing her slowly back in life for the incoming MOT a month or so away.

Woke to rain, rain and more rain - so plans scuppered.

Looking out of the office window today - to blue skies and sunshine. Typical.

So plans knocked back to next weekend....but just hoping that Spring is just about here...

Be good to hear how others are getting on.

Regards

MM

I took mine round the block today, first time I have driven a manual gearbox car since about September last year. Was a most odd experience, but then so was driving the electric car immediately afterwards.
Lovely sunny day down here for a change.

16VT and X1/9 1500

We must all do our part for the planet.
I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using.
I even unplugged my own.

Im planning thorough wash and wax for Thursday morning.
After that I'll do the car.

The wash might prove a leak other than the heater matrix.

We have several days at 18-20C and nice and sunny / dry so perfect time to get the Coupé out for it's post-winter trek out!

It has it's bi-annual CT (MOT equivalent) later this month, so a good time to go for a run and see how things seem. Brilliant - only about a 20k run up and down the N10 national route and it felt so good. Very enjoyable.

It's only done about 700k in the two years since the last CT, so there shouldn't be a problem but fingers crossed!
