After watching Porterpainter's video of him driving his yellow track car on a circuit I didn't recognise I did some research and found out that he was at Aintree which not only runs the Grand national but is also home to the oldest race circuit in the UK dating back to 1902.
Over the past 20yrs that I've been driven coupes on many circuits UK and main land Europe with different companies like MSV, Javelin,Track days and of course Spa Italia, Viva Italia, this was by far the nicest bunch to be involved with as all the staff and marshals are volunteers give up their Saturday's to run just three track days spread over a year and Sprint racing which allows them to compete with other small race clubs.
It was an easy chilled day with 10 minute sessions over four groups so I got to go out four times in the morning and the same for the afternoon, perfect to drive the nutz of your coupe and then rest and check it over before you're called to assemble again and then back out and tussle with a few Porshes, 306 Rally guys who were very quick and one race prepped Interga which just didn't have the legs on Barry so he got flamed on for the whole of the last session, Barry did me proud for that one.
The only issue I had on the day was cutting the corner in turn one hitting the concrete curb which I was told to avoid... ... it damaged the inside wall and by the time I was on the back straight at 130mph it suddenly went pop!...I carry spares so it didn't end my day thankfully so in all a great day flying the Fiat Coupe flag and tussling with drivers who were shocked how quick Barry was and how it handled this ancient circuit.

Mines similar in that it’s super predictable, but Michelin PS5s aren’t that good on track compared to the zestinos. So when I’ve buzzed these I’ll be back to zestinos, as I’m going to try 235/40 r17 tyres, as the rear rotates a bit too easy now

Aintree I ran 16inch Yokohama AD08R's which were brilliant even though I fudged one which was my fault admittedly, for Mallory I have a set of 17 TD's so looking at changing to Avon ZZR's as the car performs differently with the bigger rims, undecided atm.

Don't do anything silly at Mallory Joe...need you fully hands on with my resto project come Monday hahahahahaha

Basically he’s removed his big toe nail, so the clutch pedal will be painful for him

It won't handycap me when the adrenaline starts pumping, just hurt like a bugger when I stop!

Glad to hear you enjoyed Aintree. It's great value for money and a nice track for a bit of testing.

I was away in Oz but if you consider returning for any of the sessions at Aintree next year then let me know and I'll come down and join you - I live 15 mins away.
