This is what my standard unit looks like form the tope but i suppose we can always transfer the actuators over as its only a 5-10min job...

yes it's a GT28 RS on a 20 VT but with the original actuator (from the standard t28)...
do you not have any photographs of assembly with a GT28R or RS on an engine of 20VT? thx

Quote:

what 's about that? we have the same problem in France and we have to use the standard actuator; what's wrong?

Would it not be better to use an uprated actuator with an uprated turbo?... the standard one wouldnt do as good a job at holding the wastgate shut, from what i understand?

AFAIK, from what i read on the old forum the GT28RS WILL fit on our cars with the actuator it comes with, but its the 28R that doesnt.

Hi,

This picture is from GT28R, not GT28RS. Look the intake fitting and the screw for the GT28R wastegate actuator. I have RS under bonnet with its own actuator (1 bar) and I didn't have any problems with it. I have plenty of photos taken from the OE turbo and actuator also GT28RS+actuator.

It would be excellent when all this is resolved if ATP could offer a package of all the necessary bits, I bet a lot more people would go for this if the accessories you need was more clear. I'm placing an order next month but am still a little confused, mainly with regard to the actuator.

Or perhaps someone could give a link to the actuator required ?

I'll second that. A nice package for either the R or RS - they'd sell quite a few if the prices mentioned turn out correct.

chr77176 If you could email them to me as best you could it would be ace thanks as i want to build a zip file im my webspace for ATP to download and have everything they need and then i can say to them we want this and this and they can maybe make a Fiat Coupe 20vt Package and if the 16VT boys want some bits they can email me the same and what turbos they are looking at.... more usefull for 16vt guys as their engines are more commonly used in alfas and lancias as well...

Happy to help everyone as this could help a lot more than just us UK guys as they shiop worldwide it will help our euro and eastern buddies as well and the odd dodgey person in canada and places as well

And i look at it as trying to help keep more coops on the road, the longer they last the better for my car at the end of the day as more fresh bits for her as she gets older and more status as well showing Fiats cna be reliable(bar H's coop of course )

Yes well done Kingpleb. A quick count up on this thread shows 7 of us expressing an interest.
I for one am looking at this *possibly* just in time to get in on the Unichip group buy.

Group buy ive already asked about and even if 10units they are offering them so cheap they cant really help. maybe 20 units if a workshop like Powerfiat or Motormech or Torqueitalia wanted to get involved but to be honest i cant see them wanting to due ot the way the Warranty would work, but in my experience the warranty on a turbo is worthless, as said on the Hendy Group buy, they blame it on anything but the turbo and wriggle out of it, even though ive proven before with mine that the design was at fault and still is the companies just dont care....

the only trouble with us 16vt lot and the turbo's they list is that the turbo's they have all have a 5 bolt outlet flange, where as the coupe 16vt down pipe is just a simple 3 bolt flange elbow then becomes the downpipe

Just loads of the exhaust side of the turbo if possible please Chr77176

Begbie, yeah i understand that can be a pain too but if enough interest and enough pics is that type of outlet not used on other cars as well or a cheap adapter not available from ATP already?? if not im sure they would get one as a part made up if they got the corect specs for it..

They have the "eliminator" as used on the VW but if you fitted that and then tried putting the stock downpipe on to the turbo it wont fit due to the angle being pushed too far away

its not the actuator thats the problem its the bracket that bolts it to the turbo, you can either modify the new bracket or Turbo Dynamics sell the modified bracket.
