Just had an email this morning to say the item is on order.... Not too promising so far! Thought these were in stock.

Apparently, their supplier sent H7 instead of H1 so the excuse goes. They have a large shipment of H1 arriving any day now. They were most apologetic.
If it were a written faxed order, would see how this could happen though.
I have been thinking about this assuming the damn things turn up.....
I'm going to wire these to the battery via a couple of 30A relays (with inline fuses) with the trigger being the headlight live.
These things can draw anything upto 17 amps on start up and the wiring on these cars is near as damn it 10-years old. Heat from the engine, oil etc....
This way the headlight circuit is simply becoming a trigger for the relay, no more which will in turn take the voltage to switch these on directly from the battery via new wiring.

So, assuming these turn up, they're £90 delivered - how much are the group buy ones? (Yeah, I know, I could go and look..... )

Is there a reason that this needed a whole new thread, rather than the one you already have open for this exact subject matter?
I honestly don't know why, sorry! May have had something to do with the time of day? Looking at it during normal hours, I asked myself the same thing

Shouldn't do as they have been purchased from a UK supplier, it's their problem.
I did email them and they did assure me that these are normally a stock item. They were just sent H7's instead of H1's.

Mine work fine wired into the existing headlamp cables. There was a post somewhere about somebody who went the relay route and had all kinds of problems.
My worry would be long term reliabilty of the ballast boxes / lamps due to constant slamming of the bonnet.

Shouldn't be a problem unless the relays are cr**! We use genuine Tyco relays here at work and find they are the most reliable.
Fair comment about the ballasts although they are/should be solid state. Only time will tell else don't open your bonnet!

Hurray!!! HID kit has arrived. The quality looks excellent, all I need to do now is find some time to fit it before I go on my Hols.
