As i didnt have much to do this afternoon i thought i would take my airbox to bits, and contemplate adding a couple of strategically placed drill-holes!

So off i went only to find this........

Airbox1
Airbox2

Needless to say, someone had got there before me! But i cant believe how crap a job has been done, and why drill the holes on the bottom and not the side?!
It must surely have been done as some kind of joke/dare!

I have covered up half the holes and gonna see if i can feel any difference later on.........

Someone obviously didn't let the drill do all the work and just forced those holes through!

Yea Carl it was me on your tail at the weekend! Was enjoying the drive behind you..... until we got stuck behind old people!

I have done a some home-made repairs to the box, and am going to test them out on the way to my mates house tonight.
TBH i might get a new standard box anyway, and drill the old one to death!

and finally, i got the coop from autotrader, so the phantom driller is still at large!

Well i have just got back from a good drive with my repaired airbox and........ i reckon the car pulls a lot better on boost! And there is a definite reduction in noise!

Then again it is probably my overactive imagination, but i'm happy!

Would it not be sucking in unfiltered air with the holes located in the bottom. Where does the filter live

(suppose I'll have to have a week off work and take the top off to have a look)

The filter pulls through to the top.

and the filter is at the very top too, so that won't of caused any debris problem, but can't see that any more/ a lot more air would have got in that way

Excellent random post

It is hard to understand how a cemetery can raise burial rates and blame it on the cost of living
