hey guys, i have put my name down for the group buy on blue flame exhausts however i noticed someone mentioned a V-band adapter. ive searched everywhere to find if its relevent to my car etc but with no luck. Could someone please explain its function and its relevence to my standard 16vt,

V-band is a type of connector used often for high temperature applications such as turbocharged cars. The 20VT's T28 turbo has a 2.5" Vband connector on the back of the turbo. The 16VT does not, so a V-Band connector is no good to you really.

The V-band connectors allow you to get a good seal between two units (often exhaust-to-turbo or exhaust-to-exhaust) without the need for a gasket. Because the two sides of the connector are tightly coupled together with a v-band clamp the faces do not usually distort so it is safe to not use a gasket.
It also makes removal/refitting a whole lot easier
