Just giving the engine etc a wipe over, and i find this small tube loose, ive laid it over the bumper for the photo:

Pic 2

My engine knowledge is basic and ive only had the car just over a week - so just wanted to check if this has popped out from somewhere, or is supposed to be like this...

It's fine. An overflow/vent pipe for the power steering fluid.

Nooooooooooooooo! That's the convexor dual mass conbobulator feed. Your dilithium crystals will freeze if you don't reconnect it immediately. If you send me £100, real cash, I'll tell you where to stick it

Nooo! Never put water in there, it dilutes the whisky too much. Use parafin instead

get someone else to start the engine while you stand at a safe distance with a video camera, then post the results on here............

Thank gawd you know we're pulling your leg: a colleague of mine was in the Army in Germany and left his brand new Celica GT with his wife. The instructions he left were to top up the water if required and run the car every day. His engine repair bill was phenomonal due to her filling up the water...........through the cap with the little oil can symbol on it

PMSL a friend of mine had the same thing happen luckily it was with the old banger, old N Reg 1.2 Corsa.

But she VERY nearly borrowed his S Plate M3 LOL

Someone was looking down on him. My missus is pretty good with this stuff she asks me to do it LOL

Like last weekend we had to go do her disks and pads on the MX5, she said shall I help? I said ok, so her idea of helping was to sit there surfing the net on the laptop. She would hand me a tool if she was in reach LOL.

I have been known to swear enough to make a sergeant major blush

I've thrown tools around to the point where I can't find them again

but the worse thing I ever did was trying to change a cambelt on a Nissan Sunny and lost my temper...........ended up kicking seven shades out of the driver's side wing...........then realising it wasn't my car Ms Stan forgave me for that one once I'd replaced the wing and had it resprayed: the most expensive cambelt change I've ever done

If anyone happens to be travelling through Cumbria this afternoon can they keep their eyes open for a 13mm socket, a wrecking bar, a 19mm socket, a large hammer and part of my left ring finger................I may have "mislaid" them in a fit of coupe related mood swing.

I've been in touch with the CAA and they did say that the wrecking bar was picked up on radar somewhere towards the English/Scottish border heading North, which strikes me as a odd: I threw it South-East towards Italy
