The fron seemse to be wider than the rest of the unit - make sure there's enough space in the coupe!

It's £100 + £32 post plus (more than likely) VAT @ 17.5% total is £150. I bought a mint JVC KD-AVX1 (The one this is copying) for £190 with 6 month's warranty remaining. So keep 'em peeled.

I was wondering about getting one of these instead of a JVC jobbie (as its more than twice the price..!), so whats the sound quality like?

Thats the only real thing putting me off with it being an unknown unit (ie not one of the 'biggies' - Alpine, Kenwood etc...)

h2ypr.......any update, I'm seriously looking at this head unit too. a pic or two in situ would be cool, Have you hooked up a tv aerial to it, a brief summary of good and bad points would be great.

Right. Had it fitted for a few days now, and i tried to get access to the rear of the unit and ended up snapping one of the RCA connectors (not very well made).

The unit needs persuaded into place and the centre console sorta flex'es around it. The screen quality is ok on dvd's, but when its showing a list of mp3's be careful what you name the folders because i basically can only tell what artist it is, and nothing else!

The sound quality seems good, even tho im only running alpine 60w rms front component and stnd rear speakers and a 1200w sub with 1600w amp in the boot.

Songs without bass are very clear but im not gonna lie, its not a top of the range unit. The screen quality could be better and clearer, all the connectors need terminaled to fit because its so different and it has no subwoofer control, although there is ONE rca for a sub..... dont know how that works!

Did anyone get the one from Maplins in the link above? I cant see a huge difference in spec to the one from Hong Kong?

yeh ross it seems to sit just nice there,kevin i got mine from hong kong takes six days to get here and to fit it is easy just old out new in,about 15mins,vat bill no nothing but if i do get one will let you all no,

Modern headunits should come with compatible with ISO plugs, hmmm im tempted just cant decide between the Hong Kong one and the maplin one. The main difference that I can see is that the screen is on the other side.

yeh like i said took the old one out and pluged the new one in and all i did was switch the ariel round for my ipod

The annoying thing is Im pretty sure I cut my ISO connector of as was having some trouble with connections

cant you just wire one back,theres two sets there,one for speakers,and one for the live and earththings,wont be that hard

H2ypr....I got this head unit too....what are you converting movies with, to put several on one disk.
Mine hangs out a bit, but here is none of the metal showing down the sides.

Not made any movies yet dude. Gonna get some simpsons and familyguy stuff for watching on the way to aberdeen tho.
