Well tomorrow is the day I find out if it is my turbo or engine that is fccuked and in need of attention.
(Thanx to everyone at xmas do who tried to put my mind at rest and tell me it was only the turbo. )
I had in mind that,if it was the turbo,of getting a T28 superspool from barbz but now I have possibly been offered a Turbo Technics s161 at a reasonable but not confirmed price.
What,if any,are the advantages of the s161 over the T28 when I am running a decat exhaust?
Advice either theoretical or from experience please.

Was it the S161 that Fishy Dave had on his blue coupe ?

Seem to remember it being a good unit but i couldnt tell you the difference between the two. I run the superspool and it a great turbo, not built for huge power but for driveability its fantastic.
People have been getting between 280 to 300bhp with the superspool about the same as Dave had with the S161.

Yes,Dave had the S161 on his old 20vt.

Yup - I now own Dave's blue Coup and can confirm that the S161 is an excellent unit. Responsiveness compared to standard is outstanding.

It's very driveable with the hybrid and picks up from 50 in 5th very well.

Turbo!! Time to look at my options.

Shame you could have come in it to the Xmas party and been the rear gunner so that the lazy people who didn't get up early enough could have followed later on
