Hi,

Firstly its good to be back over the past few weeks I have tried to re-join the forum with no luck, I would not recieve the activation e-mail aggghhh!
Anyway it has worked in my hour of need......the tip of my standard exhaust has rusted through and fallen off, I have just looked at my rear bumper to find the heat from the shortened exhaust has burned a rather nasty hole into it!

I am now looking for a new full exhaust system but want to stay legal so no blue flame/de-cat (money is also an issue at the moment, if it had been just a few months down the road i wouldn't have minded so much! Things always happen at the worst time!).

I saw another exhaust system for sale on e-bay a few months back which was exactly the same as the blue flame one but came with a race cat!!!
The exhaust had a different name but someone on here (from he old forum) said it was the same parent company making it, I am now desperately trying to find it can anyone plse help???

If not I will have to settle for a supersprint full system as I need an exhaust asap, I don't want the flaming hole to get any bigger!
If anyone does have a supersprint system can you plse comment on it and tell me what the benefits are, what does it sound like and any improvement in torque etc....
thanks in advance!

Cheers
John

My Coupe is a 20v Turbo!

Hi there Coupe_Dan and well done on making it at last.

I remember seeing the Blueflame-type exhaust on Ebay as well (the one with the race cat) but cant remember the seller. I do know that I saw a very (maybe exact) product on the Camskill website just here! - about £570!

I have a Supersprint on mine. Its only been on about a month so I can make a good comparison with std. It definitely sounds a bit deeper. More of a meaty rumble than anything raspy. I believe this is due to it being made of steel that vibrates in a different way to stainless. Almost stock quiet to be honest but gives a nice burble under load and just about noticeable on tickover. I run mine with std cat.

Hope this helps!

Welcome to the forum matey. I have a supersprint on mine (and burned bumper from the previous exhaust) I like the supersprint. Sounds nice when you give it some revs but not loud at all. Looks nice too

Not cheap though, about 230 quid from AA and then 30 quid for fitting. Peeps reckon the middle section will corrode in around two years, although Wigan paul reckoned i'd see longer than that. And you can just replace the mid section as it is a two piece job.

You can get a stainless system for this money though so it's your choice. From what i've heard some of the 1 piece ss systems get a bit boomy at around 2k revs.

edited to ad..... the car did seem a bit quicker after I had it fitted, but that might just have been in my head

edited again to add.......you were on the old forum were you not

I've got a supersprint - Bought the back box 2nd hand (2 years old) and new mid pipe (£100) so I should get another two years out of it!

It's mild steel - so will rust eventually. The stainless exhausts I've heard sound quite harsh, and I really like the subtle sound of the supersprint with no 'boom'- with a decat it sounds even better!

If I'd had to buy a brand new system I'd have gone for Miltek or Blueflame for durability though. Blueflame are up in manchester - they will custom fit an exhaust, so if you want a CAT added then presumably they'll add your old one. Maybe give them a call and ask...

Autointegrale do their own exhaust (CSC) which is really good value + will probably fit it free if you pop down reading way...

Are you anywhere near Powerfiat? Rog's stainless Pipecraft system is cheap and looks really good - See "which exhaust for my car" thread (just below this one in Tuning section) for a discussion.

No idea really - Although pricing does include fitting. I think the question was asked on the other thread (by another Scotland-based person ) - No answer as yet though.

Hi guys,

well thanks for the replies unfortunately I didn't hang around (i can't bare to be without my coupe!), at 9am on the dot i called Alternative Autos and forked out £300 for the Supersprint!
Im starting to regret it a lil now as I know there are so many options and by the way 'jap' (third post down) that is the exact exhaust I was after (I had the wesite saved in the my favourites section and didn't know!) if this hadn't happened to my exhaust I would have bought it for that price and been very happy but I haven't got the money at the moment, I was so looking forward to getting an exhaust that would noticably change the pull and sound of the car!

Cametodance mate yes I was on the old forum and I believe you have helped me many times so cheers! ; )
Suba by the way its John from Mitcham your fellow green coupe owner remember you pulled up beside me at the lights a good few months ago just past raynes park remember?
Anyway thanks guys the Supersprint should arrive on Monday I will let you all know what I think of it!
I do plan when the money starts to come back in (doing up my flat at the mo hence this being a right pain in the backside!)to buy a race cat to go with the supersprint hopefuly this will spice it up, any ideas on which one and how much they cost roughly?

Cheers
John

PS
bezzer, your peco does look great! ; )

As a bit of a numpty, I'm not too sure of the different parts that make up the full system. With the Blueflame system in jap's link, which is probably the one I'm going to go for, I take it this includes the downpipe ? What else is in the system ? What diameter is the pipework ? Anyone got any photos ?

Cheers

With a de-cat it is loud (I mean rattle shop windows loud ), but with out it is a burble type nose and not bad on the motorways at 70 or 80mph . it’s a 2½in or 2¾in pipe with a 4in imola tip. I did not need to trim the bumper at all, it was a direct fit .

I got it from www.europerformance.co.uk and its onley £270 inc vat , Which has pissed me of as I paid £330 not 4 months ago .

sorry no pics .

Hi John - yep, knew it was you. Supersprint's a good system - you should be very pleased!

Race CAT's are epensive - miltek do one, but it'll cost you almost the same as a full system.... Someone on here might know of a chaper one though - perhaps a new thread...

the guys at blueflame (nigel and ian) decided to use a 70mm diameter pipe. the full system includes a 70mm diameter downpipe aswell. the system is very well made, but offers no bolt in cat section. it comes in three peices...downpipe (inc flexypipe) then centre section, then the back box. If you call blueflame direct on; 01695 733100, you will get keypad options, press 2 for car enquiries, 1(?) for bespoke exhausts. when you get through, ask to speak with nigel (the owner of blueflame) if he's not avalible, ian birch (production manager) will sort you out. tell them that you are a good friend of craig with the coop 20vt and that i told you to call (you know....the usual, lol)......and they should give you a good price. see what they could do in respect of a cat for you aswell, after all, they do make cats for bentley.

Craig, thanks very much for taking the time to post that, I appreciate it.

The system on the Camskill website for 570 quid includes a race cat, I'm just waiting to see if they fancy posting it 3000 miles East

Does this sound like a good price to you ?
