Why don't you use red wrinkle coating, as used on the LE's and plusses? Ferrari's wear this stuff as well: Testa Rossa

I know someone in Andover who does it for me Mark. You will need to strip the cover off the car and then clean it back to clean bare metal. He usually takes a few days to do it, and is cheaper if you get it done with a few other bits at the same time . I have a few bits that I plan to take to him in a few weeks time, so maybe you could strip the cover off your car and I can get it done for you? Only trouble is that you will have to do without your car in the meantime . Alternatively, buy a second-hand one and get that tidied up. You can then fit it and resell your one to someone else . Phil

Sounds good Phil, I think I'll have to PM Carlt for a second hand one to fit, not sure what it'll cost though. I wouldn't be too keen on leaving the cam cover off for a few days. I'll have to get back to you when I know if I can get hold of one. What are you getting done?! How does it work with the colour coding etc, what info do they need to match up the paint? The seats/cards are all fitted now too - thanks for those. Hope the leathers still pleasing you!! Mark

You had to clean yours down Phil? I took mine straight off the car and took it to them. They cleaned mine by a very fine shot blast before powder coating.
The place I took mine to was Bournes Powder Coaters in Brum, for anyone in the area that is also interested in having it done.

Mark - What colour would you be looking at (PM me about it, rather than clogging up this thread )? The only problem with the guy I use is that he is more of a commercial supplier, and so is a bit limited on the colours that he can offer . It all depends how colourful you want to go . Bananaman - Yes, I cleaned mine up with a wire brush first, but I know that he degreases them as part of the price, to make sure that the powder coating sticks ! Phil

http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q27/nicdav1/DSC00475.jpgWell not engine bay... but fitting soon! Lettering is a little rough because 1. original casting of rocker cover was shite! 2. bloke who powder coated it didn't do much preparation Me thinks??? It'll do tho, shouldn't look too bad once in the bay??? Nick...

Looks like a nice project. Are you doing all the work yourself?
