Damn - forgot about that - After my 13.37 at "only" 102, I managed to work out that my Blitz settings weren't holding boost at the top end (was getting less than 1 bar @ the redline)

At TOTB, I posted a 13.4, but a terminal of 111mph - this was in 30-degree heat.

I reckon if I'd bothered to do another Pod day in the cooler weather, I could be snapping at Dan's heels.

Having said that - at least my car goes round corners as well, eh Dan?

I'd better get practisingn then, there is supposed to be the Forza Italia day at Santa Pod in August I think. Doesn't clash with our race calendar so far so might take the kappa down and see how she goes

Dan, that's something of a pre-emtive message!

I'm the one guilty of pursuaded Barbz to run the competition, and gave him a hand with the rules, and there are two pretty glaring reasons why you didn't win

1. You have to enter the competition to win it. On the first line of text after the leaderboard it says that you have to enter by emailing torqueitalia@yahoo.co.uk. Now I know you didn't enter because Barbz forwarded me on the entries, so I also saw Nigels very pleased email. Your time was posted up over two weeks later for the greater good of people understanding the relative times, you didn't actually ever enter the 2005 competition per-se.

2. The rules say that if either the Torque Italia demo car or any Torque Italia 2.4 conversion post the fastest time the prize will go to the next fastest car. Mavric posted the fastest time, and since it is a 2.4 the prize goes to the next fastest car. The next fastest legal run was by Barbz himself with a 12.723! The rules don't say the next fastest car can't be either the Torque Italia demo car or any Torque Italia 2.4 conversion, so that means anyone with a Fiat Coupe or Fiat Tipo could have won the prize, myself included. Barbz 12.546 doesn't count as it contravenes the rules because he ran nitrous, but his 12.723 was without, and I believe he also ran a 12.9 without on the day too.

In addition to that IMHO it is pretty under handed and deceptive to even attempt to claim the prize since your tyres were not road legal on your 13.052 run, as visually checked by Barbz himself, and confirmed to Barbz by Jamie.

I should add -
@ Dan - if you disagree with the points I've made on my message above I suggest you phone Barbz and talk to him in person about it rather than post it up, as he isn't a regular reader of the forum. It's up to him what he does at the end of the day, I just helped him with the administration and rules.

This is what it actually says: To enter email us now with your best run to torqueitalia@yahoo.co.uk and we will add you to our leaderboard. Surely this infers that if it's on the leaderboard then it must have been emailed, whether it was or not is irrelevent as you have still included it.

You have manipulated the "simple rules" as you say here, by placing "your" interpretation of what they mean. Take the none competitive cars out of the equation as per the rules and you have Dan's and then Sheiks and Nigels cars.

In addition to that IMHO it is pretty under handed and deceptive to even attempt to claim the prize since your tyres were not road legal on your 13.052 run, as visually checked by Barbz himself, and confirmed to Barbz by Jamie.

Road Legal as per your rules states DOT or E Marked, not that they may be a little bold in places.....get a grip, half the cars at the Pod run part worn or semi bald tyres, yet they are still DOT or E Marked.

If you wanted to get really petty about it, then you could argue that the fact that the car was included on the leaderboard was misleading to the people that viewed it. Just honour it and be done with it and in future if you want to add clauses to your rules then please display them in advance and not after the event.
