Had a full system fitted to my car yesterday. Slash-cut tip with de-cat aswell. It's sounds absolutely awesome! It's a great finish and looks very well made. I drove most of the way home with no stereo on just istening to it! I most enjoyed the two short tunnels on the M25 - windows down, 3rd gear and give it some beans - Mental! Thanks to Powerfiat again!

Just wondered if any one has got the cat back system with two boxes & not one?? I went out in Martin's car today (adder58- thanks for that ) and it sounded really nice, but tbh although it sounded good, it was a bit too loud for me (I like the standard sound) Doe's having two boxes & not one slow the car down at all Has any one noticed any difference in the power etc ? I do realise that i'm being fussy here, but that's just me

craig, its mostly 20v NA owners that have the two box system. a 2nd box makes no difference to power, its still straight through just with an additional silencer.

I have a custom exhaust made with 3" downpipe, sports catalysator, a free flow mid box, and then a HKS back box, and the sound is nice and not loud, and the power is there no losses at all i guess since its all free flow...255 horses, with no chip i think its good

How much difference IS there in the sound an exhaust makes?
Alot of people seem interested in the exhaust note but surely when the exhuast is nothing more than a metal tube (with a few boxes) then the exhaust note would be the same between any options.
The only adjustable feature would be the volume of the sound.
Am i correct in this thinking?

In a word, No.
but at the same its not possible to make a Fiat Coupe sound like a Ferrari by changing the exhaust.
Think of it like putting a different set of speakers (smaller, larger, bigger bass) on your hifi system.

Different dimensions of an exhaust (size of boxes, amount of boxes, what's in them, the amount of baffles etc) will depict the note - exhausts are a science (back pressure/how restrictive they are etc)
Some could even slow the car down as well as making them more responsive/improving bhp Its not just a case of welding up a few pipes & boxes for a car
