Well, damn everybody who said the red ones were cursed! °\(

On the way home from Chester with my new TV last night, doing about 60 in a national limit on a road ive driven 100's of times, and the back steps out no warning, and i slide sideways off the left hand side of the road and smash into a wooden telegraph poll - splitting it in two - which flips me into a ditch landing on the roof.

Ironically the passenger window which usually causes the electrics to blow \:mad\: came through for me! Put that down and climbed out of the window, not a scratch on be, pretty unbelievable really.

The Coupes such a mess, i'll post pics and videos later, but its not pretty - i'm just glad the rear took the impact as if it was the front / side i might not be writing this post...

Take care out there everyone...

Going to phone insurance when they open and start procedings, not sure where the LE will go, but if aybody fancies any bits then let me know! Mint wheels, great interior (with added petrol as the tank split!), solid engine etc.......

Although, its another story of a bad accident in the coupe, where it does its job and protects the driver. Good to hear your ok.

thanks guys, yeah the coupe came through for me really, was impressed at how it withstood the impact - was quite a blow, it ripped through the suspension and split the petrol tank, could have been a lot worse..

Bloody hell mate you are a lucky boy. Glad you are okay. I'm sure you will be able to buy the car back and sell all the good bits on here. Red LE's are becoming rarer and rarer by the day.

Glad to hear yur ok fella but the car is a right mess! \:\(

The pics may not be that good but to me those tyres look pretty worn matey so it could be that you just hit a rough patch on the road with some oil or derv or the like on it and the tyres were unsettled and thus the rest of the story we know \:\(

I think you should have read this first

Glad to see you're OK, it looks quite a big one. Again another example of how strong the coop actually is. If the roads were wet you may have just hit some standing oil / diesel and not seen it \:\(

Seriously though, glad you got out unhurt and that the car did it's job of protecting you.

See, there is a bright side to everything! \:D

The tyres do a look low on tread but I'd be inclined to agree with KP that you possibly hit a patch of diesel or greasy cyclist sweat on the road \:\(

Hope the insurance company sort you out quickly and painlessly!

Well - in many years of Coupe ownership, thats the first time I've EVER seen a rear light surround extracted from the bodywork

So they DO come out if you try hard enough

Glad to hear you're OK though - as has been said many times on here, although the car was probably your pride and joy, in the end its just a lump of metal and it can be replaced.

You now have the unbridled joy of haggling with the insurance company for te value of the car - they WILL get Glass's guide out and they WILL offer you a pittance - if you need any help, PM me - I got my claim value of by nearly double when I wrote off my first Coupe.

Woah, pretty big accident, glad you're ok

You should be able to make some money back on the parts - seen worse bonnets than that on e-bay...
