Ask the insurer if there's any chance of buying it. I wouldn't mind it. Ill give you a rather tasty drink ontop. wondered how long that'd take i'll ask for your carlt, would you be able to pick it up from chester way?

They may slap a cat b on it but worth a go.

Im sure the leather bandit can sort a bit of petrol out. If they let it go for what its worth, ill certainly give you a good cut of the trim. Then again i could re-shell it.

Glad your OK Will. Had a bad crash in a coupe 2 years ago, found i started to re-live it every night a week later, so beware, shock is a strange thing. I bought a 2nd coupe 3 weeks later Glad you are ok but do not underestimate the emotional effect it will have on you over the coming weeks. John

I would of thought that the police (I presume they attended?) My powers of observation aren't that great but I think the panda car in the photo is a bit of a giveaway would of at least looked into the cause of the accident a bit and put sand or whatever down then if they saw anything They should have looked at the road surface and if anything was there they would have called the contractor on call to maintain the road: response time should be 40mins to one hour but it can be a lot longer.

Not 100% sure but would give you something to argue with if they try to blame you for crash, know diesel is very slippery! Went across a mini roundabout on my Yam 350LC how I stayed on I still dont know Peter.

Wow, first of all, glad you're ok, Second of all, I had no idea a simple diesel spill could cause that at only 60. There's nothing you can do to avoid that sort of thing is there? you weren't speeding, couldn't have seen it, what can you do?

Second of all, I had no idea a simple diesel spill could cause that at only 60. You've obviously never tried walking across tarmac with diesel on it then? I can do a very good impersonation of Bambi on ice at road accidents Diesel spills are dangerous at any speed I hit a diesel spill in a 1-day old 306 GTI-6 a few years ago, had no control of the car and was very luck lucky not to hit anything too solid ... it was like someone had greased up the tyres.

So I missed one picture

As above, glad your ok, and well done for having the presence of mind to take plenty of pics immediately after your crash, and during the whole clean up process!

Glad your ok Will. Bit of advice when claiming. Get as many adverts for LE's and and post them with your claim. This will give the Insurer a general idea of the going rate. If you have comprehensive insurance, they should pay out what it would take to replace your car like for like. Never take the first offer. And never sign the consent form before you have agreed a settlement figure. Might be an idea if you can find out off the Police, the woman's name who crashed after you. This way, you can claim for a dangerous Road. RIP red LE. Andy.

thanks again for all the advice, the engineer has been so i will be getting a letter in the next week or so with an offer, i definately wont sign or agree anything i'm not happy with. whats the advantage of claiming for a dangerous road? it would make a difference in terms of fault / liability i assume? eg. in subsequent insurance quotes? i'll print off as may adverts as i can find for LE's - mine is worth at least what i paid for it i think, its had parts and cam belt since i bought it - would the insurers take that into account? again, thanks for all the messages and support, i'm doing alright, just still amazed how lucky i was, got my lottery ticket for tonight!

Dont worry about getting back more than you paid. I was upfront with my claim, included the auction receipt from when I bought it. Also the receipt for cambelt, clutch and other stuff I had done. I wrote a letter explaining and I got back the amount it was worth. (pretty much the total)
Dont be temped to lie, if they catch you you will be shafted.
