Anyone in the Aberdeen or Inverness area up for a wee gathering around Sun 19th to Friday 24th August?
I'm up at a wedding in Blairgowrie the week before, and then spending the following week visiting people I know (relatives, friends, god parents, etc) living in Dunfirmline, Ardersier and near Beauly (W of Inverness). I haven't yet made any firm plans, but looks like Edinburgh on the Saturday 18th, then a bit of travelling around.
Is anyone up for a meet in the Aberdeen area? It would be good to see one of the Mattys again (which one?), Dude and his tart (that's correct isn't it, Tartandude?) Che (who missed the FCCUK Christmas bash and the Bobbs and Scooby wedding), Mr B and his photograph habit, and any of the other Aberdeen crew. I hear you are all very generous and warm-hearted up there?

Jim, Yes should be around at some point then, will see what we can get arranged. The only issue may be that ironically I might be in Birmingham picking up my car from Motormech around then but we shall see

And don't believe anything you hear about the Aberdeen lot, they are all miserable barstewards who wouldn't give you the time of day

Che: Cheers - plan as per above. I'm up in Blarigowrie from 11th to 18th. On 18th I'm visiting a friend in Dunfermline, and staying overnight. 19th looks free from lunch(ish) (how long from Dunfermline to Aberdeen?), and then I head off to Beauly and Ardersier. Start heading home around the 24th. Don't worry - my Grandfather was an Aberdonian so he has told me what they are really like!!

I still don’t know if I’m here or away (I wish someone would make their mind up and let me know ). However I do hope to have a functioning coupe in the near future.

Jim, I may have to meet you after lunch in any case as Im working but there are a few places you could eat. Have we got a meeting place yet at all? I won't have my coop but will either take the golf or the brabus so will be able to get to wherever you are one way or another

Che - sounds good. Where in Bervie? I will try to be there before 2:00.
Can someone invite MrB? He has been off-line since 27th July, so I guess he is on hols somewhere.

there is also a chipper/restaurant in Gourdon now...... Really? Any good Kevin, and are they getting regular supplies of nice fresh seafood? The Bervie car park is pretty good size wise and easy to find, so it's easy from that point of view.

Right then, has anybody had a think about a proposed route/place to eat/area in which to annoy the locals. I think we’re looking at maybe some time after 2 before everyone is free? I’m free anytime so if interested we could have lunch somewhere and then do the photo thing then a drive somewhere interesting?

I'm phoning Jim today. Rest of you can also expect a phonecall as we really need to work something out!
Also, depending on the route Jim takes up here, Stonehaven might be easier as he wont have to cut cross-country.

Right, in the absence of anyone coming up with a better plan I've decided it's a good idea to meet in Stonehaven, at my house at about 1:30. That should be in time for Jim arriving up the road. Depending on the weather we can then decide on a route for a drive and whether we want to eat at some point.

OK - on line at my Uncle's now.
Looking at my schedule again, Tuesday evening would be a good time. What shifts do you lot work? Would a school night be OK? I am free to come over any time, and meet up at say 6:00 to 6:30 for supper?
If not, then next time, I'm afraid. Plan is to be down in Lanark on Friday night so I can be down in Brum on Saturday evening, to catch up with BrumAlison who will probably be missing me by then.
Pity it got rained off. Met someone this morning up in Edinburgh for the fringe who knows the wife of a good friend of mine. Small world and all that. Would have been nice to have a longer chat, but I ran off to make Aberdeen in reasonable time, but that's the way it goes.
Had a lovely sunny trip up the A9 though. Funny how the weather was so different.
So, in summary, up for a school night evening meet, or leave till next time?

Ok, do we have a plan then?
Craig’s out. Che I’d guess is probably away with work? Matty, you busy/free?
I could be wherever for about 6:00 – 6:30. Kev, you’re good to go also?
Hopefully some daylight might even arrive at some point today too!
Bearing in mind Jim would be travelling down from Inverness, we had better make a decision either way in the next short while.

Yeah, I’m up for it too. Not sure what the plan is but I’m guessing we’ll go for a bit of a drive somewhere and then stop at a convenient location for some grub?
Kev, meet at yours and then head over the cairn? That’ll take us out the slug somewhere and I’m sure we’ll find a suitable pub to eat in.

Or, eat in that chipper in Gourdon and then go for a drive.

So did this go ahead guys?
I’m afraid I cant answer that question. Only the privileged few who attended the meet can have that information. Doh!

Sorry - was off-line again for a while.
Many thanks for a great evening. Yes, got back to Ardersier (near Nairn) exactly as promised - midnight. Good food, great location, nice drive, and good photos from the top. I will put a couple on-line in a while when I have deleted the 320 odd spam e-mails I have been sent over the last couple of weeks.
Thanks to Matt for organising it all, the other Matt for bringing a guest, and not just himself, and Kev so i wasn't the only non-turbo. Sorry for the dirty car, but for the last couple of days, the nearest hose was up a 3/4 mile drive that was a bit too basic for a Coupé.
Glad to hear you all got back OK. See you again some time?
