Ive checked and looked into this.


They are being recalled for one reason only!!!!

They are testing the old modules, they are calling the cars not at random but by build code etc for there own testing purposes only.

If you wish to take your car along upon request please do. However im not the only one who will say even removing 4 bolts from the module and swapping it is too tasking for them. One person on here had his service history go walkies, one had a bag light on after the swap but no prior to going and one got his door bashed. So if you want to help Fiat out, please do at your own risk.

You are getting no gain from this, ok a new module, but why if your old one works? If it works dont fcccuking touch it.

Just to add to this - not sure about the reliabilty of some of the air bag modules. I had a low voaltage warning on mine that would not clear. Eventually tracked it down to the air bag ECU. Swapped it out with one from Carl T and all was well. Took the old one appart out of curiosity, and all the capacitors were buldging and fccuked. I think they may have had a batch with dodgy capactitors that didn't last...
