Well I was reading the 17" tyre thread but am still confused.

My rim is a Momo Ferrari engineering (same as in my sig) 17" ET35 7.5" wide which currently have 205/40/17 on them. I brought them like that - those tyre though are just too low profile for me.

Was going to go to 215/40/17 but can't imagine they are much bigger. so am thinking of 215/45/17 or similar.

Anyone got a close up pic of there 17" wheels with a tyres on they could suggest. maybe even a 235/40/17 if it will fit in the arches with that offset but won't the extra widht actually dull straight line performance - more windage and weight?

Cheers

Let me tell you, that wheels look very nice in the car. I think that will be my selection for my car in the near future.

I'd go 215/45R17. Most tyre manufacturers do not recommend that 235/40R17 is used on a 7.5" wide rim due to the low profile. I used to run 235s but they caught my arches so I had to roll them

Is the 45 profile as readily available as the 40 profile?

I here you are the wheel guru John, so you would go with the 45 profile?

Yes I'd go for 215/45R17. THey are more readily available than the 40 profile! Quite a few people use that tyre size.
