Got a phone call last night from the police. My car has turned up in Edmonton and been recovered to a car pound. I have yet to go see it, but there is some damage to it (rear windscreen smashed out etc.)

It may be a write off for all I know if there is much other damage to it - or the engine has blown up? - I just don't know yet. The police caught two scumbags breaking in to it (most likely not the ones that nicked it in the first place though), but that is a bit of progress.

Of course someone else has the silver key (I have a spare at home plus red master - for what it is worth).

at least the s***s haven't got it any more, think of it like that!!

Well that is good news if it's not too badly damaged.

Suggestion time: get the insurers to shell out for a replacement key/ecu set from Carlt due to the fact that someone else has the silver key and can gain entry to the car anytime they want.

Some good news that you got it back and even better they have a couple of scroats that you can try to get to pay for breaking the window. Just need to get over there quick before it rains. Guess you will have to pay the fees as well to get it back ?

I used to live in leyton and know exactly what it feels like as the scummers used to come over from the estates and knick or break into the cars in our road. Seems the scum have moved up the road.

the chances are they thrashed the pants off the car from the minute they stole it.

if it were my car i wouldnt want it back, just let it get written off, put a big dent in the rear quarter panel when you view it.

hope any mods on the car are declared mate, otherwise they might try to escape paying out.
