I lost loads of money on my original Coupe and that wasn't even new.

Blooming eck thats my local Fiat dealer which is now shut.
I'm assuming that from the 01375 prefix.
I paid for my car less than the VAT new, can't complain worth every penny to me :-)

Do you think that the Coupes have done most of their depreciating by now? Or will they continue to get cheaper?

Paid 3.5K for mine in '04, so it had depreciated (by my reckoning) £20,545 in 7 years, or about 3K a year!!

I wasn't referring to the inflated prices sought by queue-jumpers/ must havers. That's a kind of false figure. I'm more referring to a few of the specialist/ low volume makers - mostly in the UK - who's cars barely depreciate from new at all.

Genuine question here, not being silly (for a change) do you mean something like a Noble?

Caterham in particular have amazing residuals. Mine is 11 years old, and cost around £13k in 1996. Caterham have one of these in their showroom with 40kish miles on the clock for about £11k iirc!
Mine is in tatty condition, although very good mechanically, with 22k miles and I would get around £8.5 to £9k for it!

I have indeed. I have the original sales ticket for my coupe somewhere. It has all the options on it, which took it to the best part of £26k. Now I've owned it though, it's bound to be a collectors item and therefore I wouldn't like to put a price on it.

About £2.60 (including petrol)

It doesn't actually have any petrol in it at the moment.

Well call me a fool if you like I bought my 96P 20vt from auction for £20k in Feb 97 saving myself about £4.5k and side-stepping the 6 month waiting list (yes, can you believe it, a waiting list for a Fiat ) I wasn't ready to buy really, I was going to wait a few years, but I'd seen a Porto Blue one at a dealer and liked the colour and when this ex-Fiat UK press car came up at the auction launch of the Alfa GTV and Spider, I just had to have it...

So assuming it's worth say £4k now (no idea really, don't care either ) that's a little over £1.5k per year depreciation (ignoring interest on the original £20k) and I think that's really excellent value for money, so there

I paid a tad under 19 grand for mine in 1995 - metallic paint and sunroof options - and so far it's depreciated all the way down to £178 (which is what I paid for it from the insurers).

Which is under two grand a year.

There was a waiting list even then; ordered it in May and didn't get it until October
