6+ years and 150K km car has only been towed twice.
1. cambelt tensioner dissintegrated (4 exhaust valves bent) 2. cooler pipe bursted
one radiator hose split (slightly, just drove to the garage to have it replaced) and a couple of similar almost failures saved...

Hang on a minute, nearly all these replies are saying 'never' or 'once or twice' in a few years!! And theres a fair few replies! So, why are the coupes slated so much for being unreliable?? In my case, its never let me down in just over a year of ownership.

Because for every 25 owners you get 1 horror story and the horror story is bandied about everywhere.

Because they are? Ok they're not a ford Fiesta - but bursting oil cooler pipes and water hoses are pretty damn common unfortunately....add in the electrical niggles and you have a car that does need a lot of attention compared to some others.

It never left me stranded in the past 4 years, but I did spend over 7k pounds to keep it on the road and in good condition! Can't say it's been reliable, but at least it has never failed on me (fingers crossed!)

yeah it may not leave you stranded, but it will keep you in niggles, permanently, even if its only door dings.

In my case, its never let me down in just over a year of ownership. Mines been the most relible car I've ever had. Never broke down in nearly 4 years.... I guess I've jinxed it now and my engine will fall out on the way home tonight!

Define breakdown?
In a bit over 3 years I've had the following....
- Clutch slave cyl went, got home but it was a struggle.
- Overheated twice recently, had to stop and let cool down, add water. Getting this fixed on Sat.

I bought my 20VT in Starting of October, Since then...
- My ECU/Ignition Coils and Sensor had to be replaced (due to washing the engine).
- 15mm Pipe of Coolant Tank caught fire.
- Its again not starting.. Was giving Jerks and automatically switching off the car in the First Gear... still figuring out whats the problem.
For me, it seems unreliable or maybe bad luck.

4 and a half year's ownership, it's let me down once - flat battery through not having driven it for a few weeks, so a bit harsh to blame it for that. Clutch slave went, but was progressive so no problems driving it to Barbz a few days later. <rubs rabbit foot furiously>
