maybe we need to put all the ideas next to each other and create a poll?

Feel free to create a poll, though the whole aim of this voyage into the LED light world i set about was to find a set of affordable LED lights for us coop owners, which as yet noone seems to have done.

The first set are cheap(ish) and look OE but not without their flaws.

The second set look a bit chav but they are all LED, meet all the criteria and are affordable.

The third set that im working on seem to tick all the boxes.

Not being funny but myself and Ross have put a lot of effort into this for the forum and if anyone can find them cheaper or a set that matches everyones ideals id be suprised.

Phill, I think you've done an amazing amount of work and I've been fortunate to see the design that you came up with and the effort that has gone into it.

I think it's one of those things where you will never please all the people all the time so you need to decide what is the best solution for you.

Personally, I loved your own design but apart from the first set shown above there aren't any others that appeal.

Keep up the hard work.

Sorry I was in no way trying to take over or do anthing like that, I'm too really impressed with the work you have put in and I'm keen to follow the progress. - Just wanted to help with a wee photoshop, mainly because I had a bit of free time on sunday

I'm really sorry if its seemed any other way \:\(

BB, I think your photoshop was excellent! \:\)

In fact I'd go further and suggest that any design should be photoshopped so that potential buyers can see what the lights are going to look like when fitted (if it's at all possible?).

Nah its cool, its just hard work trying to keep everyone happy with the design!

The current plan is as soon as i get a design (or 2) sorted that i think look great i will post them up and based on price and looks i'll start a poll for which group buy to start.

Phil,

Looks like good work on your part there matey \:\)

I Must admit, I went for the Coupedeteile versions, which are similar in that the units are modular & you can swap the centres etc....

One word of caution I would say to the fellow coop owners is that what looks good on one coop may "not" look as good on another, personally, the all clear type suit the silver / darker models, whereas the red inserts suit well....some other colour ! \:D ( hell, as If I know about fashion ! )

may be worth showing some others when you get them fitted to your car what they may look like on another coop ( this is a point where another forum member who is good at photoshop HELPS YOU )

for the record, here is my coop with the clear rear jobbies & this is NOT to detract from YOUR sterling efforts

Hi Taz,
I've seen pictures of your car before- very nice it is too! \:D
They're pretty much what i was looking to fit to my coupe. Mine's black with silver detail around the lights, so i think it would work well, but like you say, may not suit other colours- will be hard (impossible? \:\( )to find one set that suit all colours!
Keep up the good work though guys..

Personally i think the coupe lights look at tad silly with a reverse on one side and a fog on another. Why not a reverse and fog on each side.

Here is the idea im working with.

I think that would look really quite excellent with the brake lights working on all 4 rears top and bottom.

Bear in mind though that the fogs are supposed to be brighter than the sidelights so you'd have to spec much brighter/higher spec LED's for those. Especially seeing as you'll be using less of them in comparison.

Its a pity that non of the suppliers are currently using the newer SMT LED's as they are brighter and also much easier to put into any kind of pattern/configuration you like.

Yeah i've looked into this. There is LED's that can be used that are 4 times as bright and would be plenty according to our custom lights guy.

Well as long as the design is nice enough and suits a red coop i'm not too fussed!!! \:D

Only joking, thanks for all the effort put into this, hopefully see a nice design coming up soon.

I just thought Id add this pic so you can see a Snotts Green with LEDs:

http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc61/chrisbpoole/Coupe2.jpg[/IMG]
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc61/chrisbpoole/RearLEDs2.jpg[/IMG]
http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc61/chrisbpoole/Car010.jpg[/IMG]

Last pic answers any queries over how bright they are..

One other thing, when you do get them fitted....you never get to enjoy the blinking things from inside the car!! \:D ..apart from when it's dark and you're reversing towards a glass building you can at last see them in the reflection! \:D ;\) ;\)

Stupid question here but are any of the off-the-shelf designs e-marked at all?

I dont see how the lights cant pass an mot as long as they clearly do the same job. This is something i am aware of.

The MOT may not be your problem: loads of things on a car that can go through an MOT but cause you grief the minute you drive on the roads.......I'll send you a pm! \:\)

As per stans advice, i will need to make sure that the LED's are gonna be perfectly road legal, as we dont want people getting into problems.

Hello h2ypr, i really liked your idea for those lights and if it works out and there £100-150 i would have a set, although i dont mind the 1s that have been shown with the clear or silver look, last one shown on the green coop, but i think the idea your going with would be very different.
