Is this something that would be of interest to people? May have been done before my time, not sure?

My thoughts were to gather some quality member photos, interior & exterior, hopefully covering the colour range, mix it with some text - facts, figures, spec etc and have it put together in a properly bound book.

Not talking home made job, i mean soft or hardback books, with or without one of those nice sleeves as an option.

I'm having a similar thing printed up as a portfolio booklet and thought it would be great to do a coupe book. I'd be more than happy to put it together & organise printing & distribution

Could be useful as a book for newcomers, but also a keepsake for those already in the fold. I reckon £8-10 for a small book (i think up to/around 240 photos of various sizes) with text as required.

What do people think?

Great idea and I'd certainly buy one. Don't want to be a wet blanket, but would it actually be feasible? The market has to be pretty small and the repro costs in color with nice binding could be high. Say you sold 100 at £10 that would only bring in a grand. But as I say, I don't want to put you off and you may well have a solution to these problems. Certainly I'll help if i can (which being pretty talentless doesn't amount to a great offer) \:D

Yeah great, there should be plenty of photo space so the more the merrier really, even if there is bishops regalia involved!!

All kind of pics will be good - engine, interior, exterior, jaunty angles.......

I'd get it if there was such a thing. Not sure how you'd go about getting one made though.

Also I think it'd be nice if everyone had a spot on a web site for a picture of their coupé and a little info about it.

He's also offered to write an article/piece for the book so if anyone else would like to do the same then do let me know.

Marko, what we writing about, dude? What's going in the book? Is it a history of the marque with nice piccies, or are you going for How To guides, technical data as well? I would find most useful our own Haynes-type manual (based on How To guides) but with nice repro and lots of pics of owners cars to illustrate different models and styling and tuning tweaks. Plus, obviously, a history of the marque. A sort of Mrs Beeton's Coop Cook Book. \:D

Without a structure there might be a danger we end up with a long list of owners cars with articles along the lines of "My car is great. It is the best colour. I bought it from Fred, who's looked after it real well... and so on" \:D

My initial thoughts were to make it a mix of several things - some history for those who dont know about it, mixed with owners pics rather than stock pics (modded & un-modded) along with some articles written by owners.

It then appeals to us owners, those that are considering ownership, and the general car fan!

How to guides would probably warrant its own book and could be quick lengthy!

These are my thoughts, but the idea is for all of us to be able to chuck ideas in so although i'm organising it and putting it together, it will be a book put together by enthusiasts!

I think you're absolutely correct Mark, the how-to guides and associated photos would fill at least one book.

Plus, we haven't quite finished them yet! \:D

I think that there will be a interest in this book in Sweden as well, I just organized a group-buy for 14 custom made Fiat Coupe T-shirts... I think there will be a similar amount of nutters willing to spend some money on a book, I certainly am! \:D

Just a tip, http://www.fiatcoupehistory.de contains a lot of information about the Coupes and their history. There's an english flag that turns it into english version as well...

Interesting stuff, also fun to have a look at the accessory folders...

What happened to the Chris interview? Did you get any response from him?

Will there be some Coupe history and info about the car in the book as well?

Some content would be very nice, after all, I bet there's a lot of guys here that are willing to proof read or even write sections for you. \:\)

Kind of boring to only have a picture book...

Will there be some Coupe history and info about the car in the book as well?

Some content would be very nice, after all, I bet there's a lot of guys here that are willing to proof read or even write sections for you. \:\)

Kind of boring to only have a picture book...

I've got the 4 page piece that Chris has written for me ready to go, interview was a 'maybe' but is looking tricky according to his PA due to his schedule.

Wont just be a picture book, dont worry. I've got the written piece from Chris, an article from a forum member, and will have the facts, figures and details in, mixed with the pics i have. Ive also been in touch with Pininfarina and G Studio about contributing as well

Phil - thanks for the pics.

Mark , Check this site for pic's of how dead coupes look. http://www.fiatcoupe-freunde.de/ some really nasty tales to tell here I would think and a sober reminder for us all. Hard back for me please .

@Mark: You did know Chris met the Italian Coupé Club back in 2006 at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este at lake Como and actually signed a few members' Coops? I wasn't there myself but do have a picture of Chris putting down his autograph on the dash of a yellow coop.
Interested?

@Mark: ask Chris if he has any information about the three 300 bhp cars that where made by pininfarina back in 2000 (apparently as a study for the successor to be which failed due to EU emmision targets).
