are some of you guys crazy? I drove Gouki's car 2 days ago - back to back after driving my car (with GTA clutch - which DOES feel like standard). The Helix was a SHEDLOAD heavier! I had to use a lot more pressure than I have to with my GTA clutch, like more than double I'd say.
Gouki said that after a few days of driving it, he got used to it and it feels like normal - which I can see being true, but if you want to compare back to back, the Helix is a lot heavier. And the bite was a lot snappier compared to standard, it juddered when I was trying to slip it.
When going for it, and performing aggressive gearchanges at 6000+rpm it felt great, but for traffic/normal driving it's very aggressive compared to standard.
And this is testing back to back with my own car, so I know what I'm talking about!
Sideways a LOT

Thanks S1MMA,
I think I will go for the standard as the benefits don't really stake up on a normal car.
All thoughts and points appreciated though guys!

if you want to go for something above standard Nick, go for a GTA clutch. That's what I did running just over standard power, and it feels light (as OE) and (not wanting to get into the whole GTA debate) is beefed up over standard. If it's only £50-£100 more to get the GTA, then it's not such a massive difference in price, and you don't get a race feel clutch. Mine has been well abused, probably over 40 1/4 mile drags, 4 trackdays and plenty of launches on the road, and is still fine at 1.1 bar.
Sideways a LOT

S1mma out of curiosity are you talking about the Helix Organic or Helix Paddle? TBH, sounds like a paddle to me. With my Helix organic the pedal felt lighter than the std. clutch it replaced and it certainly doesn't judder in reverse. It occassionally judders if I try to slip it when it's hot. Apparently the performance of a clutch comes down to installation and bedding it in for the first few hundred miles.

Helix organic mate. It was juddering in 1st gear when I tried to slip it, pulling away on a level surface in my underground car park. I've never used a paddle, but if it's more aggressive than the organic helix I'd shoot myself if I had to use it in traffic. Maybe Gouki's one has something wrong with it if you guys recon the Helix organic feels like OE, I thought it felt nothing like OE. A million miles from it in fact. Rog fitted it, so can't see that being done incorrectly.
Apparently the performance of a clutch comes down to installation and bedding it in for the first few hundred miles.
Mine was fitted about a month ago, and ive covered about 250/300 miles bit of city driving and fast driving i currently experiance no juddering when pulling away It would be my guess you would just get use to it Ben

My ears are burning.....
Well it's just driving technique. You can basically pull away with zero juddered once you get used to it. I've done about 1K miles with my clutch but I do drive the car really easy. I'm no trackday HERO like S1MMA.
A)It's not a paddle. B)It's not lighter than a standard clutch. C)The bite is fiercer than the standard clutch
Like my Sig S1MMA?

yes, you've proved you're sadder than me with your sig, well done. After driving it for a bit, I did get smoother - although if you slip it like you're using an OE clutch, then it will judder. You have to me more aggressive when bringing it to bite to get a smoother takeoff, and hence in start stop traffic I can see it being less drivable compared to OE, which isn't a big surprise. I'm no trackday HERO like S1MMA.
Well I don't like to boast, but I am quite a hero. Thanks mate.

I have the same experience as Gouki, so would not bother fit to a standard car.
