I was wondering, is it possible to clean and paint the rocker cover in place, without the need to remove it all? Anyone else has tried it, what do I need if possible?

yogisdk : Possible but takes a loot of work and patience. Need to clean it first and then cover all the rest in tape so it does not get paint.

You will get it painted alot quicker if you remove it. Not worth the hassle whilst fitted.

Guys would cleaning my engine bay with my steam wall paper stripper be a bad idea? If i remove the "plate" that held against the wall then I get a narrow steam blast from the tube. Obviously it would need ot be kept away from the electrics, but appart from that would it do any damage tot he plastics?

I've used a 3 bar household steam cleaner, using the fine nozzel. I found it not as effective as I thought it may be. I used spray engine degreaser and then steam which worked quite well and I've had no problems.

Why even try to paint it in-situ? Takes less than 30 minutes to remove and the gasket + o-rings cost almost nothing. Also would make the job so much easier.
