when you refurb the front brembo's from silver to red, would you spray them to get a better finish or just use a hammerite style paint,

You really need to strip the paint and spray them to get the best finish IMHO ;\) . I used Nitromors, then followed up with a wire brush attachment on a drill and the Dremel to get the hard to reach bits off. It takes some time to get them truly free from paint \:\( .

I think yellow calipers look best on a blue car \:\)

My coupe has red porsche 996 turbo calipers on it

I'd also go for yellow on a Sprinty. The contrast would look great. If its good enough for Porsche ceramics...

The hammerite was smooth finish so it smooths over as it dries I think

All I did was give them a very good clean with a degreaser and that was it for the fronts..for the rears I had to get a steel brush to get all the crud off and then I painted them \:\)

And I painted the fronts insitu but dismantled the rears \:\)

was going to do this in next few days, i did my rear left on on the previous coupe i had, i have smooth red too, excited now, did you not have to strip current pain off the front brembos, so it was just degrease

Yeah that was how I did it but I know that others (MattB for example) were a lot more thorough in their refurbishment!

I did mine as an expirement more than anything as I imagine I'll be taking them apart fairly soon to replace the seals etc (but the paint is still looking good \:\) )

Hey chaps, pretty new to the forum, been reading it for a while but this is my virgin post!! Anyway, I have a 20v Turbo in Rosso Winner Metallic and want to give my front callipers some TLC due to a medium sized paint chip on one of them. Has anyone seen a suitable colour for them aside from Silver?
