Right, seeing as I've just found out a wheel is fuct, I'm on the crusade to consider others. But I'm only interested in lightweight wheels (after discovering they are worth about 0.5secs on a standing 1/4 @ 8Kg under standard).

So, anyone know the lightest wheels that will fit in 17" ET38 4x100 PCD Coop?

Team Dynamics Pro Race 1's were 7Kg IIRC - correct me.
OZ Superleggera's (assuming you can get the right PCD and offset?) are 6.9Kg

Others?

Superleggra's you will need spacers to clear the calipers, but you will be able to get them in 4x100 PCD as this is what i had

Whoops. I meant Ultraleggeras, not supers. Pro Race 1's come in at 7.3Kg in 17x7in.

Fiats are 4x98 so you need wobbly bolts to fit 4x100's on. Don't know about spacers for your brakes as I don't use coupe Brembos but you need spacers that are hub central not the crappy universal ones from Halfords. I think Ebaich do them.

As for wheels I’ve been doing tonnes of research epically on the Superleggera you know Dare also do the same wheel too. The cheapest place to get the wheels is RTEC and they really know there stuff and will price beat any other shop price.

I've heard so many bad things about OZ alloys that I'd not bother and go for the ProRace 1.2. Can get them 4X98 ET38 and wont need spacers to clear the brembos, neither wobbly bolts.

V. strong as well!

TurboJ i went on that site, have you dealt with them before?? on the list it says coupe 16v nothing about 20v turbo, but surely most of the alloys fit just need a big enough spacer.

Don't go by their website as it pretty crap and not always up to date, just ring them up. Yes I have dealt with them as I have just purchased some new wheels. I went to their showroom in St Albans and they have loads of rims and if it’s not there they can order them in. I tried on four rims before I handed over any money.

What bad things have you heard about O.Z wheels? I have a set and they are brilliant.

Team Dynamics are light and cheap but id rather use spacers and wobblys considering there piss poor quality and apalling customer service.

mainly that they are soft as butter and softer than the not so strong (to put it mildly) stock alloys!
I've bent 2 sets of stock alloys already on the "excellent" Greek roads \:mad\:

TDR do have an appalling customer service (but then I ordered via their Greek rep and alloys came as promised, right size and colour ;\) ) not sure about the poor quality though.

ultraleggara ? I think Pro race 1.2 eclipse superlegs for weight

Make sure you get them wide enough to fit decent tyres - 8x17 is best for the coupe IMHO - can fit 245/40R17 on that width as long as the wheel clears the arch.
I would be very careful with things like copied wheels (like the Dare ones). In general copied wheels are not cast or otherwise made in the same way. The classic example are porsche replica wheels that no longer have the hollow spokes that make the originals so light. The reason the superleg is light is the manufacturing process as much as the shape itself

John, I thought that only 7X17 Prorace 1.2 clear the brembos and that the 8X17 need spacers?

TD wanted to sell me a set of Pro Race 1.2's at a reduced price, but they're a bit (0.3Kgs?) heavier than Pro Race 1's so I simply said no. I do not put heavier things on my car (Well, except turbo, intercooler, clutch etc...)!

I got the impression they were a straight fit.

btw, I might decide to get the last two Pro Race 1's TD have in stock for £120 \:\) - with ET35, so a tad wider too. Sadly they will be silver so I will need to get these painted!

This is all a fccuking rse. All because of tight rsed capitalist filth councils who don't repair earthquake sized potholes in their roads! \:mad\:

Filth!
