Well after decigding now that i may fix the car, as i can source an engine from member on forum.

Main reason is i dont have time, tools or knowledge to break so therefore would make no real money in doing so. So have decided i may as well get the engine replaced.

Im looking for some info on what to do, should i be checking anything else whilst engine is out.

Fit a new clutch and change belts and tensioners on the new engine if they have not been done within the last 2 years.

16VT and X1/9 1500

We must all do our part for the planet.
I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using.

Put another new belt on, even if it is only a week old.
Taking them on and off is not good for them, for what they cost against a new engine put a new belt on.
