Ok just a bit of help needed. I have just recently discovered that my fuel pump I brought of ebay 2 years ago is FAKE as Rob had trouble mapping and suspected the fuel pump. I need a PROPER Walbro 255 fuel pump. I found a place called temple tuning who claim they are the distributors for FSE and all there stuff is REAL. The problem I have is that the swirl pot I brought was from a breakers so I don’t know what pump to get as they do a GSS340 for up to 98 and a GSS342 for 99 onwards how can I tell which pump to get? doesn't mean it was fake, might have been a low pressure 255lph like the 317 etc. so you just reached its crack pressure. having said that I wouln't chnce it again buy a brand new one from a known reputable source.

Yes but which one or does it really matter? What is the differance between the 340 and 342?

They arn't Walbro pumps.

As i said in your parts wanted thread, i have one which hasnt had any problems providing the correct amount of fuel.

no i know that but they used to do a really nice in tank pump that was good for 500bhp with all sorts of fitting kits for differing cars, and they were cheap, we used to sell them all the time at Burtons

Choose "Fuel Pumps" / "In-tank" / "Technical" and there you have, a great picture of different Walbro fuel pumps: 340, 341 and 342.
They all can be installed into Coupe, I use 340 with a big intake.
