Dumping aircon #627734

I know a couple of folk have done this, so does anyone have a rough idea what parts I would need to remove the aircon from my 20vt and run without it?

The main problem I have is the clearance between the mounting bracket and the engine when running with a tubular manifold.

I had to cut and shut the water rail with a narrower pipe inbetween and this seems to cause the car to idle higher than it should...

Other option would be to modify the mounting bracket, but would need to be careful with strength etc.

Really you want to replace the whole alloy mount that the ps pump and alternator bolt too, then you can ditch the air con compressor and have an adjustable alternator (might need one of them off a non-aircon car too?) to get the belt tight. Or you could try and come up with a way of making your alternator as it is now adjustable but I dont know if that's possible or not, having not properly looked at it.

The rest of it should just be a basic case of ripping it out.
