I'm thinking of replacing the standard oil cooler as the pipes are horrible and I will never be able to remove the pipes from the cooler because of the terrible fittings.
I was going to cut off the existing fittings into the block and attach the braded hose with Mikalor clamps.
However, I would also like to add an electric fan to the oil cooler to aid cooling efficiency. Has anyone else done this? Also, has anyone managed to fit a larger oil cooler into the space left by the original one?

one of my friends used a larger oil cooler but it resulted in slightly lower oil pressures. personally i wouldnt bother. it'll take a ton of modding to run out of spec on the factory oil cooler which is very good already. ive not heard of anyone cooking engine oil in a coop.
as for the fan, im not sure if it will be necessary at speed as the stock oil cooler has very nice ducting from factory. a fan will probably only be useful if ur stuck in a traffic jam in high ambient temps, but oil temps wont be very high at idle rpms anyway.

I haven't ran with oil cooler ducting for over 4yrs and never had a problem with oil temps.
This is how it should have come out of Torino!

Since the car will be producing more that twice the horsepower from the factory, I guess that could me described as a ton of modifications!

I am fitting a larger oil cooler at the moment, as you can see here but it will not fit in the space left by the other one, as it will foul on the alternator belt. So i will be rotating it about 45 degrees, so can use one of the orignal oil cooler mounts and will probably mount it on the black bit the bumper runs around

who done your pipes for you begbie?? A chap who used to post on here called Big Lad, he had a mate who could make them up, so had them done a few years back, needless to say, they were rusted to buggery and destroyed my old oil cooler taking them off

That was the same one I was considering using from the bay only £60. I might try and jam that in too
