Hi all,

I've read some bad reports of the Profec boost controllers going wrong, and was wondering what other options people recommend instead and the associated cost?

Or is the Profec B EBC the best one to go for?

Thanks

W

I'm a fan of getting an uprated EBV and using the ECU to control the boost. But personally I have an Apexi which I find good as it lets you control boost relative to the revs.

OK so it seems like the options are

1) Greddy Profec B
2) Gizmo Electronics
3) Apexi

Is there much in it? I presume the Greddy will be a good bet because there are plenty of people who know how to set them up!

Also you should consider where & how you can mount/fix the controller.
Like TurboJ says some are larger than others.
The Greddy is small, can be fitted in the ashtray, stuck to the bottom of the dash or like i have.
I've had a holder made that replaces the driver side air vent which has a slot for the Greddy to fit in.

If I've had a gtec1 and prv checked on the RR, will I need to go back to the RR if I fit an EBC?

If not I feel a GB coming on.

Thanks

W

Hmmm I'd have the Apexi for control, the Greddy for simplicity.

Shameless plug Richard? \:D

My Greddy's about to be custom mounted where the centre vents currently are and there'll be an analogue boost gauge next to it for good measure - piccies to follow. \:#

Oh and I prefer the Greddy but have heard good things about the Apexi AVCR and very good things about the Blitz iD-3.

I think the Apexi is really good, being able to control boost easily dependent on revs and what gear you're in is great!
