there are v.few cases of ppl replacing the visco unit.
And I'd dare say that some may not have been necessary.
Unless it's leaking, has been hit badly (somehow) or some other visible mechanical failure, I doubt it needs replacement.

What are the symptoms?

V.

Visco is a sealed unit and I believe that when you get a gearbox oil leak on that side of the box, some people replace it thinking its the visco leaking as the oil runs down the shaft that passes through it. Having spoken to a fair few people about the visco unit, it appears to be 99% reliable, What makes you think it may be a problem?

If it's an oil leak, see the how to guide on drive shaft oil seal replacement, I had a DS leak and the how to as well as a 15p seal sorted the problem for me!

I was just wondering, when I had my first 16vt as new ,I couled realy feel it working, now days and with the 20vt - some time its looks like nothing is ressiting the understeer, since the car is 10 years old and a 100k on the clock I thoght I'll ask.

Have you changed the wishbones recently? I'm wondering whether it's something else which is causing the understeer.

Mine were shot - having never been replaced (93k at the time). I did them with the ARB bushes etc and it really sharpened up the front end turn in, overall grip and steering response \:\)
