I'm currently on these..but the grooved version. IMO good value for money and sufficient for normal road use. Good seller as well.

Strangely mine only squeels when the wheel is turned. No squeels on a straight line though..

Theres a current brake discussion hereabouts which isnt very complimentary of the red stuff pads.

I would buy discs from these chaps:

http://www.3gbrakes.co.uk/

As far as pads go it really depends on what you want to go for - road use, track use etc. Pads that will take a hammering are inherantly poor when cold and give poor response when pootling about. Pads that are good when pootling about get fried when used heavily and fade....

I've always thought the mintex 1155's are a good pad for a bit of everything and dont cost the earth.

ideally want a combination that will handle a lot of demanding braking at the nurburgring i have been contemplating the deal in group buys with wiper slots and pagid pads but want to upgrade rears too and have it all fitted for a reasonable price..

Check that the brake compensator valve is not siezed - this will make the rear brakes do very little....

If you want to upgrade the rear brakes then this is the best option:

http://www.compbrake.co.uk/Fiat%2020V%20Coupe%20Rear.htm

You can also upgrade the standard rear pads to textars - which do help the rear lift on braking (these can be got from Alternative Autos)

If that is the purpose then you need some quality discs. I have used 3G 12 groove and Pagid 6 groove with no issues at all, and have given both of them a hammering. The DBA slotted discs are also very good, though I have not used them myself.

You will need a quality high temp pad like pagid blues or higher for that track, and dot 5.1 fluid if you are going to push the car.

so it will be best for the dba wipers and yellow pagids i think and a rear pad upgrade to match then...
i know the choices are endless but i have seen even after heavy braking on a spirited drive the brakes overheat and dont inspire confidence std brakes are adequate for a std coupe in everyday applications -- really is tempting to do the brakes and handling as well currently looking at a track tyre set up too. would now help if the gt4 sold!!!
