Just done a quote for both the coupe and shed (a punto as an example) and the price looks very competitive (and a saving of around £120) over quoting the cars separately.

My insurance with ND for the coupe runs to end November - don't really want to cancel as I'll get stuff all back and I'd rather not shell out almost £600 right now (versus <£300 for shed).

Does anyone know whether I'll get the multicar benefits if I take a policy on the shed now and then add the coupe in November?

Anyone had any experience of a similar situation? \:\?

Yes Vicks, see my post from a month or so back on Admiral - very impressed, I have mine & Juliet's cars with them now, and if you call them there's a good chance you can talk them into even bigger discounts (I did!)

Reading your post, did you insure all 3 cars at the same time which is something I don't want to do really \:\)

Vicks,Im on the multicar scheme.i didnt have to pay both up front!Pay one car and you get a quote on how much the second is going to be when its due renewal and thats all you do!Have to pay it in a oner though,no instalments! I pay aroung £350 to have the coop and the wifes Picasso diesel insured fully comp with pncd. They will work out dearer seperately as I pointed out to them when I renewed last year and they brought the price down again, great stuff!! \:D cheers Paul

Did the same with More Than.
Insured the coupe first with M>T then a month later swapped the G/Punto from Flux to M>T.
When I got the coupe insured I just promised that I would take the Punto from Flux with the full ncb.
Now got 2 cars with 2 drivers and 2 ncb from 1 ncb

I've just used Admiral Multicar policy.

Recently got an Escort Estate that I need to insure, Admiral have ensured that with the coupe as my "second" car on limited mileage of 6K. Total was about the same as for just the coupe!

When I explained to them they set the policy up straight away as a multi car policy to run until my coupe policy run out. So effectively not starting a new policy but changing my current policy to a multi car policy until it expires.

The person I spoke to was very helpful, especially as there were a few unusual circumstances, ie cars kept at different address, etc Also includes the Mrs on both cars. although she does have her own.

I think I have found my 'shed' a 7 year old 1.2 16v punto - I can insure this comprehensive with a £250 excess for £302 (£266 TPFT so a good deal) and then put the coupe on the policy with my full NCB from November when the ND policy expires (£238 for 254 days, equivalent to £342 pa with £150 excess which is a very competitive quote ) . Both cars to include commuting and occasional. business use for me and bro as named driver

You have to call to buy so perhaps I can squeeze them a little more \:D

The odd thing is the car doesn't appear on their database even though I have HPI'd and it all seems above board \:\? Having said that, Admiral didn't have my brother's Alpina on either so perhaps their database is simply cr*p
