If that is the case and he is working on his own, or with his own outfit then he's got my vote anyday.....the tr racing website does not seem to be working....would like to know how to get hold of him.

So does this not take away the reason for going to PT, and are you still going to get your car mapped there J?

No I am booked in with Rob for next week . I've had his number for a while now anyway . Rob is the only reason why I went to PT. I know of somebody else who can also live map our cars if Rob is unavailable as he is a very very very busy mapper.

Given he no longer works at PT, my money would be on the fact that he's using another RR.

Or if you read the thread on the GTR you will see he has access to RR's all over the country and prefers road mapping rather than the dyno

You will not be able to get hold of Rob most of the time as it’s a nightmare espically if your not in his phone book He doesn’t reply to texts/voice mails. I can get hold of him 'sometimes'. You guys have nothing to worry about he is setting up things but mapping will no longer be at PT. I am in contact with him and will be the next person from here to visit so I will inform all of the future once he explains it all. Don’t worry live mapping is still here

All in good time So do I But Rob knows the 20VT inside out and is cheaper I'll be interested to see, but from what I've been made aware on, mapping at PT / Rob isn't the best for the 20vt

Well like all businesses there are good and bad news, and bad news always travels further. I have always been happy with Robs work and will continue to use him for any future jobs too

TurboJ,
I am definitely interested in Rob's services, he did a fine job on my 20VT and I am more than happy to use him again. I look forward to details on how to access his services in future. Thanks

There is an undercurrent on this thread, it seems to me, trying to undermine Rob's work, which I feel just isn't fair. Rob has done Exceptional work making High power 20VT's accessable for those of us without £1,000+ to spend, and has assisted in the development of coupe engines with 350bhp+. I will be going back to Rob for my next remap whenever he surfaces (and I need one). There isn't a proven, better option at the moment, and as things move forward I am sure Rob will move with the times.
Rant over, apologies if I have offended anyone, but Rob did excellent work on my car at a time when there was no other option and I just wanted to spell that out. Cheers, Ben.

Ben no matter what mapper/tuner you use there will be good and bad reports, despite what some garages may claim. If you're happy that's the main thing, and I know that there are many other people on here that have used PT/Rob and will continue to do so. Each to their own and all that.

You guys have nothing to worry about he is setting up things but mapping will no longer be at PT. Turns out I maybe wrong here. Phoned up PT and you can still book in with PT and Rob will live map your car. I'm confused as to what is going on. I hope rob comes on here and clears things up.

So, he no longer works for PT, he works for himself, but PT will hire his services if you want it mapped there?

Well... Its 23:45 and i'm still at work so i'll try and post a few bits up quickly. I no longer work for perfect touch, the time came wher ei could no longer work 8 hours a day (on top of my hours at perfect touch) lol I am so snowed under at the moment it is is going to realistically take me around 2 months to get back onto mapping the coupe's. I have been aproached by two fiat tuners to exclusively map coupes for them but feel that is not the way for me. I am looking to provide the same service as was given at PT but at under half the price, there are other companies offering this service now and good luck to them. I'm not mapping your cars based on what i can do to my own car (which made 1204hp atw last week for comedy value) but on experience. Its funny how i have just read another thread on here saying i mapped a car too lean and that is the reason the car couldnt be mapped that day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You either know what you are doing or you dont Its all well and good offering a mapping service, but experience goes a long way (To the US in fact). Thanks for everyones support, ive had the opportunity to not only map some great cars but drive some bloody quick ones also. Regards Rob
