After my little passenger ride in Akeme's coop i've been looking into this little set. The car simply handled better than anything else I've ever been in. My MX5 couldn't hold a candle to it. Oversteer, outright grip balance and poise and the ride didn't seem any harsher than my Billy/eibach combo. At the time Akeme said that some of the fccukers on here had tried them out and found them too hard but I can't find any reference to them anywhere on the forum?

Well any opinons?

the ride is not too hard.

its awesome, the KW's are so so good for the coupe, but they have a high price tag at £1000+.

his were set on the softest setting, so handling can be even better \:D

but yes your right, it shows that coupes can handle extremely well, and take corners very fast.

oh also, if you do buy you need to order Fiat Bravo 1.6 top mounts, as the coupe mounts will not fit.

This gives a better fit for the narrow coilovers, giving more support.

The bravo part numbers are issued by the KW re-seller, they will know of this requirement.

After a brief search I found them here. I'm sure that is the company that did the GB on the bilsteins a way back. KW V2

Honestly, I wouldn't have bothered with the Billy/eibachs if i'd been in this coop earlier. They are quite literally a world apart I never thought a coop would handle like this. I didn't think anything handled like this! I'm still shaking and i went out in it on Wednesday! I'm sure the rear ARB helps a lot too but this coop was just out of this world. I didn't think cars went round corners like that \:o . I've never seen any car corner like that (and neither had the people waiting at that roundabout judging by the looks on their faces as we came round sideways \:D ). What the hell does a proper supercar corner like then?

To think all these years I've been reading about Nigel, Flea and the other track demons, thinking that their coops would be slightly better in the twisties but a lot firmer i.e too uncomfortable on the road. Nonsense, with a very good suspension set-up the car is transformed with no sacrifices to comfort.

Admittedly Akeme is a total nutter behind the wheel :D, but if I'd been able to corner and then go on the straights like that for the past few years, I wouldn't have lost a single coop vs. The thing is awesome.

I was just beginning to accept that I was happy with my coop as is and that I would just get it tidied up and running nicely... and when you suggested I go out in that... that thing. You knew, didn't you. I told you it would cost me if i got in but you just laughed at me \:mad\:

My life has just got a lot more complicated and I can feel poverty looming ahead...

I could have just said 'no thanks, I've got to go home now' °\(

Only because I let you have it \:P

I was THAT close myself, but dithered because of the inferior colour and the fact that I don't like bodykits. In hindsight, I'm glad I kept my coop, I couldn't have put up with that black one breaking down on me ;\) \:D

I think its great that KW made this kit work, its exactly the same Koni insert in both the front and rear damper that FK use.

I wonder if its anything to do with the Bravo top mount ? I'm using the same top mount on my Leda's and it does work well.

More likely they did some homework with springs and got some that worked well with the Koni insert.

How are these coilovers adjusted, and how big a range of adjustment is there?

.....also, how do they effect ride height? (sorry if that's a dim question)

Just to clarify my question - i meant the damping rather than the ride height adjustment.

Adjusted the same as any koni damper (thats all they are) on both the front and rear. Ride height is adjusted just like any coilover, a threaded damper body with the spring seat adjusted up and down.
Ride height is adjustable anywhere between standard and probably about -60mm.
