Not quite as far as selecting hotels... I'm waiting for input from the Italians, French, and Germans, through whose territory we will be passing and with whom it would be good to meet.

Names here would be good, to give me some leverage when I start talking to hotels...

I *might* be up for this. Had a great time at Spa Italia last summer, and now it looks like Spa '09 could fit in perfectly at the end of this trip. Depends a bit on cash flow and whether I can get the time off work, but please put me + 1 down as "maybes".

At the moment, what we have is on this thread. See the stops on the map.

As planned we would arrive Torino Wednesday for a couple of days; no problem to either stay another day for the weekend, or take a couple of days longer getting there... hmmm, there's a nice bridge not *too* far away...

We are good for meeting you all at Bourge en bresse.And stay the night there before moving on with you all.

Problem with arriving Friday is that it's a hell of a way back if you don't start till Sunday... but I'm thinking about it.

We could go north of Switzerland - cos I don't want to buy a motorway carnet - and in through Austria and the Stelvio pass...

I'll look up which roads I took, but I drove north of Switzerland from the western side of Germany, across a mountain pass and got on to the motorway ( A13 ?)west of Innsbruck.
Then up the mountain road to Seefeld via Mosern. Went back to the valley floor motorway ( A13 ?), bypassing Innsbruck, and headed to Kitzbuhel.
That road was getting some major roadworks at the time 18 months ago, but it should be fine now.

The Italian guys have adjusted their plans for their Turin meet to fit with our proposed Euro Trip. Having missed out on the 2004 Turin meet I would hate to miss out on another and think we should ensure that we are in Turin for the weekend 6th/7th June.

How about going through Germany, then into Austria before dropping down into Italy and Milan? We could then arrive in Turin for the weekend.

After Turin we could make our way back up through France, with some of us hanging about for the Spa Italia event.

Sounds like a plan to me. I'm happy to look after the Spa weekend part of it.

Folks, is there a desire for me to enquire about specific hotels en-route? Bearing in mind there will be a gap in the process now open for individual events, so to speak, so we end up in Torino the first weekend and Spa the second?
