Hi all. I'm new to the forum and immediately need your help pleazzzz \:\) I'm quite active on the Dutch coupe forum (I live in the Netherlands), but I can not find an answer to following problem:

Recently my original alarm became active and I can not turn it off. The only thing I got is the ignition key. I know there is a red, silver and blue key and a red code card, but I don't have these. The only thing I have is the ignition key. Problem is that I can not start my car now! I want to disarm the original alarm, but I don't know how to do that. I search through the forum for a 'how to', but off course this kind of information is not public.

Coupe info:
Fiat coupé 2.0 16 turbo
Year build: November 1994
Alarm: ????

I found out (thanx to the forum) that I have either a META or Scorpion alarm, and that disabling is possible.

Is there any1 that can send me by PM how to disable the alarm?? You would really really help me with that.

Please do not think I'm a car thief! You can see all my posts on the Dutch Forum if you want Dutch coupe forum

Im sure some non UK coupes have a key activated switch in the glove box to disarm the alarm/imob system.I think its got a rubber cover over the barrel, maybe you could turn this off somehow or pull the wires.

Hi there, yes saw that but I do not want to replace the fob (don't even have 1) or alarm. I just want to disable it so that I can start the car.

Yes, but I don't have the key to switch it off. Is the alarm box located behind this keyhole in the glovebox??

You say you can't start the car? The alarm isn't connected to the ignition system at all so the car should still start.

The 16v alarm systems are under the drivers wing above the plastic inner arch, this can be disconnected without it having any effect on the rest of the car except the central locking.

That's strang then. Since I can't turn off the alarm I can't start the car.

If I disconnect the alarm, is it then still necessary to reprogram the ECU??

I also have a 16vt. just sorting it out before it goes back on the road. New rad (game and a half but Kempston radiators in Bedford best service) replace oil seal around top head new pads and oil /filter. Then I have to paint it as it was a scrapper because of vandal damage (slag scratched into car). Trying to soet alarm fob and tried to locate alarm box behind fuse box but all I can find is a yellow Bosch box with no indication of its the appropriate box. It does have a sensor on the roof light for a remote.
Does anyone know if this is the alarm box or is it beried near it

Has there been any posts on instaling a new alarm from the supplied loom to this alarm. Mine is the same as above but is inactive and wish to get into the car without the ignition key in the door. I've seen the wiring giagram for the scorpion but not this one. Can anyone help

Its not a scorpion or meta its attached by a 20 wire all black coloured wire. Have a wiring diagram from coupe manual. If you disconect the loom under the black box (near top front of wing) car should start as mine did before and after taking it apart.
I am putting in a new alarm as its a lot easier than trying to get that dinisaur of aan alarm up and running.
Will post a how to when fimished yhe instalation
