One of the valves heads managed to go through the piston and is now sitting in the sump \:D

Thing is the head was new, the seller got a mate to do the work and he rebuilt it with a new cam belt but didn't change the tensioner, this collapsed and caused the failure.

How many RPM's was it doing when it went? It certainly wasn't at tickover was it...

Poor sod. Classic case of getting a specialist to do any servicing. The tensioner would have been changed and he'd still have his engine.
