3 hours in my coupe is lovely

but its the drive back and the 6 hours min drive there and back lol

i would love to come....

i will speak to my mate and see if he wants to get insured on my coupe so we can split the driving and it will stop me talking to my self for 3 hours!! lol

a lot of us make a weekend of it and stay over for a couple of nights which is a good laugh and a nice break rather than doing there and back in a day.
always an option as that is what i will be doing!!

this time ill leave the tent at home and book a room at the hotel, wish i could have stayed last year!

Besides which some of the Scottish contingent who attend these fairly regularly would laugh at a mere 3 hour journey

tip...avoid the copper kettle if were going to same place we did last year

theres a travel lodge in carlisle, not sure about the lakes but there is alot of b&b in keswick what will charge around 20-40 quid a night..

It was better when we stayed at that place near Kirkby lonsdale really. (tho it's prolly more expensive)

we have stayed at the whoop hall inn which is lovely but a little pricey.
would recommend it though and will probably be where I'm gonna stay.

Accomodation Keswick and around about is ten-a-penny, jobs in hotels are the only employment going round there. I'll be there, my wife and daughter are in Workington, so I might bring them along. Some great driving round that area, may I suggest a blast throught the dual carriageway between Keswick and Cockermouth. That bit of road is epic, if you know it... ;-) I'll keep an eye on this thread and duly attend.

Is anyone leading on this already or should I get my finger out as Northern Co-ordinater?
