Anyone else being farmed at the moment?

I have 2 rather large villages on either side of me, and I've been attacked nine times since 5:50 yesterday morning...

I'm hoping to get my defences up quickly though..

7 times in 4 hours last night. I've upgraded my cranny so eveything is hidden

But I have made a note of who it was and will unleash hell on them when I have more than a rat in my army

I got attacked a couple of nights ago but they only took like 5 of each resource so given it costs about 150 of each resource to train a single legionnaire, it just hasnt been prudent for me to invest in defence.

i just spend my resources, so theres nothing much here fro them to take.

HAHA... I've been attacked 9 times in 2 hours... how the hell do you get enough resources to train an army???

Just to let those who didnt do so well on Server 1.

Server 7 started 3 days ago so every is on a level playing field. If you want to try again, (or u want to try Travian for the first time) this would be the server to do it on.

For the record, many thanks to Elder81 for finding this game, i'm now rocking it on Server 1, making alot of other people's lives miserable.

I have a village on Server 7 as well. (59,79) are the co-ordinates.

I'm well into this now... started a new account.. got 226 population, 55 army and level 9 hero...almost ready for a new oasis

I'm into it too, pop. 264 but I keep getting slapped at like 5am!

Webbo...before you go to bed send all your offencive army about 30/40 squares away. EG if your asleep for 8 hours, send them to attack someone 4 hours away. That way they won't get killed while your asleep and may get your some resources

Oh and build a BIG cranny

How on earth did u get a level 9 hero with only 55 army?!?

Honestly, if you're active enough and get yourself a sitter for when you're asleep, you hardly need a cranny at all.

Who can sit when you're asleep? In the last 3 days i've had attacks every morning between 4am and 6am, each taking about 5000 in resources

Join an alliance and ask about a sitter. It's a feature built into the game. U can allow 2 other players to use your account (for this very purpose). There are certain things they cant do like spend any gold you have, rename your village, change your alliance, (any profile stuff). Otherwise they can do anything.

I have 2 sitters from my alliance, i've asked them to basically do nothing, except farm the local villages, unless i get attacked. That way in the morning when i wake up i have a nice stash of resources to spend.

Nasty! The guy that attacks me is ranked 120, sends 2000 horsey things and 700 others at a time so there isn't much point raising a few legionaires!

haha, yeah best u just spend get a sitter to spend the resources when he attacks. If he doesnt get anything, he'll go elsewhere.

Another good idea is to build up your walls and residence.

They give you defences even if you have no troops at home. It wont do anything if he's send 000's of troops at you, but if he switches to sending smaller raiding parties 20-30 units (which he probably would after a few fruitless raids). then they can kill 2-3 units. It may not seem alot but they're sorta free kills (you dont need any units at home) and it is costing him then to attack you.

Obviously if you're Gauls then just build 1000's of traps

Haha it's getting a bit serious for me. My university dissertation is due at the end of the week so i've basically spent the last month at my PC 18-hours a day.

Great for Travian playing.

Today arrived my new monitor, so i new have my new monitor with all my dissertation work on it, and then Firefox, Skype and MSN showing on the old monitor. Its like a dedicated Travian monitor

LOL.... Im just about to get me second village, loads of the allience members are all moving close together...preparing for end game.

Right I'm up and running now with an army of erm... 1 rat.

Anybody got any thoughts as to whether I should attempt to make friends with my immediate neighbours or knock seven bells out them and take over their villages?

I suppose it depends on how my day at work goes.

Always go on the offensive.

Get 3-4 troops and as soon as the beginners protection runs out, raid your nearest neighbour and do so repeatedly to all your neighbours until you can get no more resources from them.

With each attack, build more troops, and then send these out raiding as well. The more troops you have, the more resources you will bring in.

If you are successful, then you should 'own' your 7x7 map screen and if possible the 13x13 large map too. Then you can basically use all those other villages as farms making resources for you with your troops making 3-4 times daily visits to collect the goodies.

Just check the the Top10, quite simply the biggest players are those with the best 'Robbers of the Week' rank.

(oh and you learn to ignore the pleading messages you receive)

I like the sound of those tactics, almost like playing planetarion again except with Asterisk and Obelisk.

Another good trick is to keep an eye on when the beginners protection runs out on villages that are less than 10 population.

(you can check this by trying to attack them, a message will pop up saying that you arent allowed till their beginners protection runs out at xx.xx.xx)

Pick these villages cause these are the ones where a person has started an account but has never actually bothered to log in. So they're full of resources and if u attack them as soon as u can you can nick all of them as they wont have a cranny.

Obviously though these villages are slow to produce resources once you've cleaned them out, so just move onto the next one and send 5 troops back once a day or something.

Barracks will go up tonight so I can get a more threatening army than my current single rat on the go.

I hope the dissertation IS on travian, else good luck, you're going to be needing it with 16hrs/day on travian and 2hrs/day on the dissertation...
