i have got bilstiens with std springs lower and upper strutbraces 22mm rear arb camber bolts,i was thinking this would give the best compromise, thinking of speed bumps because of the lower brace and ride,i am thinking i might like less roll.has any one tried both whats peoples opinions?

I run bilsteins with standard springs mainly because of speed bumps where i live and i want a little confort \:\)

I find it a good comprimise without lowering the car,

Jonone, I have practically the same set up as you, but with a 24mm rear arb and Eibach springs - I dont find speed bumps too much of a problem

The ones which go all the way across the road are fine at low speeds, but where there seem to be three across the road in the coupe I have to drive with my wheels across two of them, whereas in the gf's Golf I would just drive with the wheels either side of the bump

My car is my daily driver, so the ride quality is not too compromised and the handling is fantastic

i have a front mount so the dreaded low boost pipe,i am able to go over most speed bumps with my wheels either side so i am happy with the height,i think i would feel more comfortable with a bit less roll,do people find it understeers more in the wet with lowering springs?i think i might try a cglock as i am on std seats and that might help feel less rolly, does any one think a front arb would help or just go for eibachs?

I have Billies and eibach springs and have no problem with speed bumps even when I had a lower brace fitted.

The biggest issues with lowering for me is the front does tend to scrap on steep drive ways etc which means I cant park on the drive at my parents house.

Hyperlink is probably spot on with the biggest problem - I had to add some tarmac 'ramps' to my house to get the coupe up the drive!

Which type do you have? (B6 or B8) In the oficila Bilstein site i found only B6 for Fiat Coupe 20VT. I have lower springs, i think better is B8

As you say the B6 are official Coupe Shocks and that (i think) is what everyone has used.

But B6 is for standard springs. For lower springs is better modified shocks.

OK and what do you think above http://www.lowtec.eu/coilover.html ?

I have B6's with Eibach lowered springs and have no problems as do many other people.

I actually phoned Bilstein and asked. B6 has a wider range to cope with lower springs.
That's a quote for all it's worth.. \:\)

Anybody with Eibach springs can vouch for that, the car is soooo much comfier with Bilsteins it speaks for itself.

Can just ask a quesion to everyone about front shocks, as it's been a while since I've worked on suspension on any car.

Do the Bilstein front shocks come already inside a new shock mount (as shown in the photo on the balancemotorsport website for the group buy http://www.balancemotorsport.co.uk/sitepage/Bilstein.html Or do you have to remove your old shocks from the mount on the car and re-use it?

Thanks,
Lee

Its a complete front unit \:\)

The Konis come as a front insert for some strange reason.

So apart from the odd ramp and speed bump there are no negative effects from the eibachs?do people think the eibach front arb makes a big difference?

The ARB keeps the front very level indeed, the car seems to corner almost flat.
