Started to ring round today
(29 2 years NCD live in london, no points)
Currently pay £680 with Noel D

Policy shop £2500 (father and partner named drivers), gulp
DNA £1000 (father and partner named drivers), gulp
Elephant (father and partner named drivers) £1000
Adrian Flux can't quite remember but I think it was £1500>(father and partner named drivers)
Virgin £2000
CIS don't want to know, neither do swiftcover
Chris Knott thought it would be over £900 but said he'd see what he could do.
Quite a few other companies I can't remember which are mentioned on the forum coming in at £1500>

Starting to panic at this point....
Greenlight £797 (father and partner named drivers), better
A-Plan £639 (father named driver) £824 (father and partner named drivers)

Waiting on the ND renewal quote. (Update) Which said £689 for me, father and partner. £599 for just me and my dad.

There's nothing unusual about my girlfriend by the way - 25, clean licence etc

Is the car standard? Have you tried confused.com?

The A plan quote is good though

i was confused after going on there. One quote under £1000. The rest ranged from £1500 to £3000

Car is standard apart from supersprint exhaust, K&N filter, and nonstandard headlight blubs.

got any ideas what A-Plan are like to deal with?

ND don't seem that organised - I even had to remind them to send me a renewal quote. Imagine, you could forget and have no insurance at all. Surely they are under some obligation to remind you when your insurance is coming to an end?

if they are both bad to deal with it brings the choice back to the money.

ND say £689 for me, father and partner. £599 for just me and my dad.

Spoke the the chap about the service issue. He offered some comforing words. In the event that I do have to claim then at least there's someone who I can bring in that I have spoken to before and that I think is competent and decent.

I hate to bad mouth people but my experiences with ND are also very bad.

Unfortunatly they were over £500 cheaper than anyone else for my renewal.

Thank God I read this thread! I'm with ND and haven't had anything on my renewal, which must be VERY close now!

<hurries off to find paperwork>

A plan are not useless, to me they are scum but thats because i am the opposition :-P they are good, but each branch differs and so do all the staff members in there, one person might get bad service but 100 people will get great service, they are just as good as any other broker, and do not work on commision so they are out to help you, not get money in their pocket

My insurance isn't up for renewal until May or June but as I was thinking about it, I wandered onto gocompare (it was a quiet day at work...). Most companies wouldn't quote me (technically the isn't mine on the V5), but of the ones who would, I can't remeber who it was, but my quote was £418! 32, car parked on street, standard security, 14 years NCB, clean license (well, it is this year, anyway). I thought that was quite good but I'll be going to Fluxy's nearer the time as it will likely be modded by then in a noticable way. Do you live in a high risk area in London?

I'm a new member to the club and just got my first coupe after years of wanting. I'm 30 with no NCB but 12 years driving experience split from partner (reason for finally getting coupe) and was on her insurance policy. Anyway 99(T), 72k agreed value of £3k, 8k mileage limit, parked on driveway, North Yorkshire, fully comp with Direct Line for £584 and they are very good been with them for years when with the wife I would reccommend giving them a try
