Please reply here *only* if you have a working 16v NA in regular use - I'm curious to see how many remain active. I have a feeling there aren't too many around any more...
Other posts *will* get nuked.

There are 4 club members listed with a 16V, other than you Neil.
Note that not everyone has the engine version listed, so there could be more than that within the club.

'95 Blitz with a K+N Cone and 17" Wolfraces. 109K with a spanking new MOT. Very tidy and locally admired example.

Welllll... apparently alone in the world, I *like* the original wheels and I don't like spindly wheels with rubber bands on.
Tastes differ, it seems. Don't see why, but they do...
I agree with you there i think sme after market wheels on the coop are "ok" but you cannot beat the factory wheels they compliment the car perfectly. . . as they were intended to do

Seriously, Rob, don't you find the cone filter kills your low-end torque? I assume you've replaced the original filter box and resonator? I loved the sound of my 16V with the K & N.

Yep. All gubbins removed with a damn near straight air tract to sucky-thing over wheel arch ensuring cool air via slats. PorkyPaul is so right 'bout evocative Darth Vader-on-speed rasp. Low-down torque seems unaffected howevever high-end is revier with more punch mid-range upwards. The rubber bands on 17" may well give a slightly 'firmer' ride. The black infill to the wheels along with black sills/bumper valences combined with a more solid body colour I think enhance the overal package.

Here`s a wee pic of my old 16v Coop in her prime ,patiently waiting on me to stop tinkering with my 20VT and get her sorted out . Even though I prefer the 20VT alloys I still think that there is nothing wrong with the 16v alloys, they suit the Coop perfectly . Baz
