hello to all !
my goal with coupe is simple :
fast road car.
I have had alfa 155q4 before, and that car was tuned to 325hp / 420nm / 1.4bar . it was ok, but the delivery of that power was not good. before 3500rpm there was nothing.
and then again on the upper, the standard cams were limiting the power down to that 325hp. ( head was standard )
so the good going feeling was between 4000rpm and 6500rpm.
now I want more power, and usable power between 3000rpm -7000rpm . when I sold my alfa, I always feel, that something needs to be done more on that 2.0 16v engine.
thats why I bought myself fiat coupe 16vt.
I have everyday car also ( volvo s40 1.6d -08 ) so I can do this car what I want.
first thing I think a new turbo, of course.
already bought myself a masterpower mp 810019 specs :
58,1mm compressor wheel, 56mm turbine wheel. turbine A/R .48 external gate needed.
friend has this same turbo already, alfa 155q4 car.
seems to be good, but there was still something missing
for my goals.
I had everything done to this setup, manifold, oil lines, and car was started too !
but I wanted more.
other things, what have already done to my car; new bonnett from glassfiber, weights 5,3kg. walbro of course is there, lancia delta integrale intake manifold, new fmic, and there is inlet and outlet on the same side. still have to make there some air guides, so all the air goes through the cooler. maybe this is the point, where I can list all the weight saving things, what I have done already.. so here they are :
front speakers - 1.0 kg
spear tyre+tools - 16.1 kg
stuff away from front - 3.1 kg
boot carpets, not all - 4.4 kg
delta intake manifold - 2.5 kg
original intercooler "plate" - 1.0 kg
rear viper+motor - 1.4 kg
bonnett - 25 kg
new battery - 13 kg
mitsu turbo+new manifold - 2.1 kg
new radiator fan - 2.6 kg
so far total is : - 72.2 kg
still standard interior, all the noise materials,
standard wheels...
oh and my car doesnt have A/C so theres easy 10-15kg more saving too. so the real total is near -85 kg already.
lets go back to the turbo!
so I have read good things about mitsu evo turbos ( the twinscroll ones )
in Finland there is some evo 9 cars with just 3" exhaust and chip, doing +400hp / 500nm / 1.5bar boost.
other good thing is spooling... they make 1.4bar / 3000rpm
and what I have read from evo forums, even with "race cams" the standard turbo is good.
thats why I wanted that turbo. and a just couple weeks ago
my friend from Italy makes some good numbers with this standard evo 9 turbo : 412,5hp / 1.55bar boost.
spooling was also very good; 2500rpm 0.6bar .
those results are with race cams.
I only have 239 degrees and 9.57mm lift NA engine cams.
I also gonna use TOMEI style exhaust manifold, because that seems to give best power and torque on that turbo ( at least on evo cars )
also, its with internal gate, but I´m gonna put it still with screamer pipe. why ? . results from evo forum are showing some +10 - 15whp more power, when using this.
I´m gonna do some test on this summer :
standard cams + 0.8bar boost
standard cams + 1.0bar boost
then new belt and new cams in :
NA cams and 0.8 bar boost
NA cams and 1.0 bar boost
so I can see difference, from cams..
I have G-tech pro RR, and that seems to be very good.
( I already used it with my alfa )
I put some photo links later here.
chip : DINK versions ( 2 different )
after going over 300hp, then local electronic man make me a new one ( with wideband.. he is good..
)
oh, rear brakes are standard, front there is better discs, and bads.
exhaust manifold is soon ready. well not ready yet, but here you can go and see some pictures of my car :
